v8supes should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Can someone explain the purpose of the qualifier race? Does it mean only cars in these races can compete in the 24 hours?

As far as I am aware it is more testing for the teams (and more data for BOP) plus the results allocate some of the places in the Top Qualifying sessions.

The races are also part of the NLS/VLN championship this year.

Don't think about it too much. It sets part of the grid and all that. It's just an excuse to get more racing at the Ring. Treat it like that and enjoy it. Trying to work out exactly what it does isn't much fun.

That's just the Lumatek panel cycling through driver ID and position, rather the old style flashing light.

I'm fortunate enough that tomorrow will be my first visit to Nürburgring to watch the Saturday qualifying race. I've got a ticket to access the grandstands and I understand that I'll have access to the paddock as well (although I have no idea what they mean by paddock).
My question is, where do you advise me to park considering I have a ticket?
Any other advice for someone going to the circuit for the first time would be appreciated.

Plenty of parking around the GP circuit and Nordscheife, tickets will get you into most places all stands paddock and behind the pits.

They are certainly still flashing compared to other classes, but using the same unit as opposed to a separate light.
