And now for some good news! The organisers have managed to obtain FREE admission to the re-scheduled MSVR meeting being held this Sunday at Silverstone, so please drag your mates along to see what is hoped to be a great days racing with lots of full grids.

Just a quick note to any Marshals planning to attend these re-organised events.

It may be wise to give all the Chiefs a chance to draw breath before asking some of the more detailed questions.

As can be appreciated things have happened very quickly (and are still happening) These things do not organise themselves and a lot of compromises may have to be made at such short notice.

Fay, just to make this clear, I'm not talking about you or anyone else involved in the marshalling side of things. I'm talking about the official MSVR press release - it was that which cued me to make alternate arrangements. You guys do a great job!

Ahh good news, I'd heard rumour!

Steve (or probably more likely Fay), this presumably means no issues about having to issue tickets on the gate for Marshals as it'll just be an open door?

Hi

This is correct, it is an open door policy. Though I would appreciate if anyone could let me know if they are coming so that I can have the sign-on sheet correct and the allocations done. However, obviously I will not turn anyone away if they turn up on the day.

The AMOC and Masters Series meetings have been cancelled this afternoon. The AMOC is due to be held at Rockingham the same date as original. No information on where the Masters meetin will be held as yet.
The Donington website homepage is now fully updated and shows the next meeting to be the BTCC weekend.

I'm supposed to be covering BTCC at Donington as a photographer so am making a note of this thread.

Donington website still showing Masters Series as going ahead, Masters website also saying it is going ahead.

Yes, that's the plan for the F3/GT meeting. Obviously it's provisional until the circuit licence is sorted out but I've opened a volunteering list in good faith.

Donington homepage might be incorrect as listing BTCC as next meeting at the circuit as the events menu is still selling tickets to Masters Series.

Michael Cartwright, Chief Marshal for AMOC, has just confirmed to us that the AMOC meeting on 4th May has not only been cancelled in respect of Donington but completely, ie it will not be taking place at all.

Apparently, letters are in the post.

It looks as though there will not be any meetings at Donington for some time!

That confirms what I heard earlier, what a shame, R.I.P Donington.
The A.M.O.C had provsionaly booked Rockingham for their Donington meeting, are you sure the Rockingham date is off.

Has there been any word about the BTCC meeting 16/17 May? I'm meant to marshal at that meet, but would like to make alternate arrangements if its not to happen.

At last weekends meeting at Silverstone, there were ''rumours'' going aound that the BTCC meeting at Donington was being rescheduled for Silverstone. BARC already have a two-day meeting at Silverstone that weekend, shouldn't be a problem to bring the BTCC instead! Watch this space!!!!

I have just heard that for the MSVR meeting on 19th April we have only got 36 GT Cup Cars and all the other races have reserves.

I think it is going to be a very busy day.

I hope to see a lot of you on Sunday.

Regards

yes to confirm we (elise trophy) had a full grid within about 6 hrs of confirmation and have stoped at 8 reserves... the 8th reserve is actually italian and flying in so desperate to race...

hope marshal numbers are ok... there will be a very good marshals fund on sunday.

We are not doing bad at the moment. At least 1 flag on most of the posts plus a few observers. I could do with more though, so that I can have an observer and flag on each post.

I think we are doing OK on the incident side as well.

However, with the numbers of entrants the more marshals the better.

ps. if any of the Donington marshals are at a loose end on Saturday we've picked up a very late notice track day at Donington and would be more than happy to give passenger rides. Just come along to the Paddock Cafe and mention that you were marshalling and we'll sort it.. we will have spare crash helmets as well.

Busy weekend now as we've a track day at Dony on Friday and Saturday plus take the ET to Silverstone on Sunday...

The AMOC view on Donington cancellation : -

Just to let you all know that Donington has been cancelled as of this afternoon. Emails are going out to all those involved and racing. We held on until Donington gave us no option. They had meetings with the FIA today who have not issued them with a permit. They continue to do work to rectify this. However Donington told us they could not offer the 4th of May with a permit.
We will now look into seeing if we can put something together for later in the season.

The worrying thought to all this is what Donington's cash flow situation is like at the moment.

I see from the AMOC website that their meeting on Monday May4th has now been cancelled. The Masters Club website says they're still 'optimistic' for their 2 dayer the following weekend.
