Merlyn Mk24

I recently purchased and am restoring a 1973 Merlyn Mk24 formula Ford, chassis 419/FF/73. The car was originally purchased from the factory by Terry F. Meadows, who raced it in the UK for a year and then took it to Canada, possibly Edmonton. The car resurfaced in Calgary around 1995 looking very neglected, with no engine, bearing CASC badge 4-174. I know its history since then, through 8 owners. Any information about the car's history from 1974-95 would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Rich

I've learned a lot about this car in the past year and a half. Most likely, after being brought to Canada in 1974, the car blew its engine and sat until about 1995. The car was then rehabbed poorly, raced a few times by a series of five owners, but basically was treated like junk. I'm happy to say that, after a lot of work and money, this Merlyn mk24 is once again a serious racecar.

Tonight I found the original owner of my Merlyn and spoke with him by phone. He was thrilled to hear his car still exists and is still racing. He's going to look for period photos and race entries, and tomorrow I'll send him what I've learned in a year and a half search. Very cool!
