Mallory park

I hope this doesn't offend anyone, but this coming Sunday sees the return of the BRSCC to Mallory Park after the tragic events of two weeks ago.

I would like to wish all officials, competitors and spectators a safe, enjoyable and exciting days racing, (with nothing worse than the odd splinter from the Morgans).

Me too - I'm racing two cars there, and hearing about another tragic accident at Mallory has made me sit up and take notice even more..

Drivers tend to forget about events like that when they climb into their cars and the 'red mist' decends past their sunstrips, but I for one will be keeping it in mind. I hope also we have a one-minute silence to remember Kevin Griffiths by.

Small (perhaps picky - sorry!) point Neil, this meeting's being organised by the Morgan Sports Car Club. They've invited a few BRSCC and BARC championships along. Will you be there this Sunday?

Absolutely, I never miss the chance to see 'historic' racing of any sorts (hope that doesn't upset any Morgan drivers!)

My tickets came via BRSCC, so I naturally assumed it was a BRSCC meeting. It doesn't matter to me, Only the stuff on track is important with club racing

I would hope that there is a minutes silence and reflection, I feel it is a dignified way to acknowledge what happened.

What cars will you be racing? (a bit more information than just 'Morgan' please !!!!!!!

Not Morgans at all - I'm racing a red/yellow Maestro in the MGOC race (#11) and a blue/silver Mini Cooper in the Mighty Minis race (#36)

I feel that if more people knew what happened, and under what circumstances, then it may help in some small way to stop this sort of thing happening again, but we should have a minute's silence regardless. I'll see what I can organise..

Best of luck with the racing. Suggest you have a word with Julian Floyd in Race Control.

Richy_Rich should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I'll be there, driving me Triumph Spitfire.

The minutes silence suggested is a good idea.

If the minutes silence happened, then I missed it. Chris, I was going to say hello, but when you came past me (Fire 1, entrance to the paddock) you didn't seem very happy, and I figured you might need all of the lunch break to fix whatever problems you were experiencing! Still all things considered, it was a cracking days racing.

Yeah, I did have a few things on my mind over lunch break, but I wouldn't have turned anyone away

Sadly, I didn't get the chance to talk to any of the organisers about the minute's silence. I did rather expect them to have one - I think that meeting was the first one after the Alfa club was there. Strange..

Anyway, yes it was a pretty good day, and even though I experienced mechanical maladies with one car, the other one performed well
