The same is true for teams and independents championships.
I stand corrected. But where did you get the regs from ?

IHG was a separate entry, as I suspect Pirtek racing will be.

As the season draws ever nearer and that only liveries, rather than drivers, are left to be revealed, I wanted to throw the question out there on what has been the best looking BTCC livery?

I quite liked the Seat Cartridge World look a few years back but would be well worth hearing some others views:

This is definitely the most iconic for me.

Wow, a blast from the (recent) past! Adam Jones was a decent driver - clean and fast - shame he didn't stick around longer in the BTCC.

On the livery front, it's not one of my favourites. Got to be the Honda or Volvo from 1999 (8 years ago)!

All the investigating, rumouring, nitpicking, 'BMW would never spend money for BTCC team' comments, and Tordoff stating manufacturer drives don't exist, it was worth it. Welcome back BMW!

Massive fan of that livery. Sublime.

Works Subaru, Honda, MG, Vauxhall and BMW outfits. With Subaru, Honda and BMW all running their own engines. It's like the 'glory days' are back.

But wait, it's a silhouette formula, everyone pays for a drive, it's not 1997 and where's Alain Menu?! Pah.

Can't wait for the 2017 season to start!

so that's why Colin Turkington could leave that madhouse , good for him, he would deserve to be even paid for driving

Slightly unfortunate timing coming at the same time as all the F1 launches, however a very welcome announcement.

Welcome back BMW.

I did too and did a bit of Googling - apparently, GardX was appointed as the official paint and interior protection supplier for BMW in January 2016. Not sure if that deal came about as a result of any BTCC involvement or not.

Just when we thought it couldn't any better, welcome back full time BMW! Taken a while, but it shows once again we have less need to feel nostalgic as the driver talent grows and the manufacturers involvement increases. How much longer are we waiting for the fourth Scooby seat to be decided?

As for best livery I quite liked the 94 shell sponsored Peugeots

Cool, good on BMW and well done to Duck and the guys at WSR bringing them onboard. I now fancy Colin as Champion - no doubt JP, Flash and a few others will keep us on our toes 'til the autumn visit to Brands!

So I think that answers the was he pushed or not question. Looks like he swam past Dicks fishing rod with a tasty manufacturer backed car on the end of it!

They've mentioned the new engine before.

Sounds like they will have significant backing from BMW, more than any of the other manufacturer-backed team anyway.
