I think they would look much better if they swapped the blue for black. Why use that much blue anyway?

Brad Jones Racing
Jan 25 2005 BJR All Gassed Up For 2005 After five years, the two BJR Ford V8 Supercars of Brad Jones and John Bowe will don brand new livery with today’s announcement of a new naming rights sponsorship deal with global gas giant – BOC. A leading supplier of gas products and services in the South Pacific, BOC will step up into the main V8 Supercar series, after a highly successful year in the Development (Konica Minolta) Series in 2004, which included winning the championship title. “We were very happy with the results that both V8 Supercars and BJR achieved for us last year in the Development Series and when the opportunity arose to have two BOC cars in the main V8 Supercar championship, we quickly snapped it up,” said BOC’s Director of Marketing, Mr Bruce Currie. “The fit of V8 Supercars with our industrial and welding markets is exceptional and BJR have proven they have the on and off track expertise to produce the types of results that BOC demands,” Mr Currie concluded. Proudly displaying the two striking new Team BOC Falcon race cars during today’s official team launch in Sydney’s Circular Quay, team principal Brad Jones is clearly looking forward to the 2005 V8 Supercar Championship. “I cannot tell you how excited we are about 2005. To have BOC stepping up to support us in the main series is a real honour and I guess somewhat of a pat on the back at the same time,” Jones commented. “There’s also a significant reason for us launching our season campaign early. We wanted to let our fans and other partners know exactly what 2005 had in store for BJR and also sound a very strong message that this will be the most dynamic season for BJR as an outfit,” Jones concluded. Jones’s thoughts were echoed by team mate John Bowe, who last year finished inside the top ten in the championship standings and is looking for an even better result in 2005. “Firstly I’d like to congratulate and thank BOC for the faith they have put in our team. There’s no doubt that we [BJR] are one of the hardest working teams in the category and that’s why we have always punched above our weight.” “I’m really looking forward to 2005 and having a fresh naming rights partner just adds that extra spice to it all. After driving competitively for over 20 years, I don’t think that I have ever been as excited as I am about this year and I really think it will be successful,” concluded Bowe who was recently voted 2nd in a list of Australia’s best ever race drivers. Over the past three years, BJR have consistently flown the Ford flag high, including a podium finish at last year’s Bathurst 1000. A reason why Ford Motorsport’s Operations Manager Stephen Kruk is delighted with today’s announcement - “It’s fitting for BJR that they have earned the support of a global company like BOC. At Ford, we share in the excitement that this new partnership brings to one of our best achieving V8 Supercar teams and I congratulate BOC for the confidence they have placed in BJR, Ford and V8 Supercars.” The 2005 V8 Supercar Season kicks off with a non-championship round at the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix in Melbourne on March 4-6, the first round getting underway at the popular Clipsal 500 in Adelaide from March 17-20. |

Blue is BOC's secondary colour, thats why it was used. It is infact a darker blue but it wasn't enough contrast for a race car apparenlty. Thats why the lighter was chosen.

Wasn't as great as everybody cranked it up to be. I actually like the smiths trucks cars, but I don't like these ones much I gotta say. I prefered the green and black, and Andy Jones' car from the Konica series....
And have I missed something, or is it mandatory to release the liverys in Sydney???? |

I actually meant releasing them in the City centres just like Murph and Weely at the Opera house and Davo at some famous city square thingy.... It can't be mandatory surely!

The cars look great, and it's fantastic that BJR have arranged a interesting new sponsor package.
Interesting that they still have two different liverys, I think the #12 probably looks better from the front... But what does the #12 car look like down the side (and the #21 on the front) it's a bit hard to see in those pics! Last edited by WebberForWDC; 25 Jan 2005 at 13:06. |
