Noise reduction?

I was wondering, do people generally use noise reduction software, if so what do you use, and what sort of paramaters? Cheers.

Neat Image is also worth a look but so long as you don't underexpose you can generally do without it.

Useful to have as a rescue measure though...

Have used the NR option in Nikon Capture a bit and have been happy with the results, although I'm not a fan of plasticky looking photos and will take some sharp grain/noise over too much smoothing over. In any case, 1600 nowadays is miles ahead of film grain, so I don't get my knickers in a knot about it all, I just remember 800 asa neg film or worse, 400 E-6.
