Merdeka Millennium Endurance Race 2010

Since first event hold in 2000,MMER get more numbers of international teams and drivers years by years. This year, they switch the start time to midnight therefore green lights on at 12am 8 Augest (Sunday). And also, only FIA homolagated car will be eligibled for the race.

Last year top four - Petronas BMW,PCS Racing and LKM Racing will keep on the entry list, and LKM should remain on their drivers line up too.Except them,Eurasia enter with Aston Martin DBSR9 which owned by Hong Kong driver Frank Yu.Michael Bentwood and Alain Li are partners of him.P Ma will join the race with DBRS9 too.

Lambo Gallardo GT3 also enter the race under Dynaten banner, the car has shakedowned at Zhuhai yesterday, and Marchy Lee going to be fill the drivers list of this car

Is it too rainy in the early part of the Year in Sepang? Or the end. This race could go well coupled with Dubai or the Asian tournee that Le Mans does.

A few famous names have appeared there (Henzler and Stuck Sr.) but it seems like more of a regional race. A change of data might help to garner more interest.

Last servel years we have decent numbers of entry from S-Taikyu ,and they added MMER to their calander in 2010 as 'Special Race'.

Can Japanese menbers help us explain their co-operation?

Nice field, and I am kinda surprised to see Joest there. With a line-up like that, they must be the big favourite. Also good to see my local hero Dominik Farnbacher in one of the Porsches!

A strong lineup indeed. Good also to see Tony Quinn bringing out the VIP Petfoods 997 RSR again-cant remember the last time that car was raced.

Qualify:

1 Porsche RSR PCS
2 Lambo Reiter Engineering
3 Lambo KK Performance

Porsche is unbelievably fat in the straight, but the lambo even being "only" stock GT3 are doing under th 2m05s....

Race promises to be interesting.

The Reiter run Lambo (Arrows Racing) won the race. Audi Team Joest R8 came 2nd and 3rd was the 'Super Taikyu' Petronas Syntium BMW Z4.

Some drama in the race. First the Audi R8 caught on fire even before leaving the pitbox for the starting but fortunately no damage and they started the race normally.

More harrowing was a major pit fire for the Lotus 2-Eleven of Aylezo Empire during their refuel pit stop. Car was engulfed in flames and there were injured members.

The Marchy Lee/Alex Yoong/Matthew Marsh (KK Performance) Lambo retired at about 8.5 hrs due to a blown engine.
