[V8SC08R09] L&H Phillip Island 500.... (merged x2)

Be nice if we had a confirmed entry list, however am led to believe that the most obvious pairings may not end up that way....

Whatever car he puts his backside in, Mr M.Winterbottom (with either Mr Richards or Mr Youlden...) should be quick all day....

ernie endbert should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Does anyone know how many laps the race will be ?

114 by my calculations.

Also, because the island is such a fast track, how many pit stops are predicted for re-fuelling ?

going on certain pairings forming:

Holdens chances:
#1 - GT's had a few bad years here it'as bound to turn around maybe Rick was the unlucky one, while Mark is having an off season he generally turns up here.

#12 - BJR usually go well here don't know if it will translate from Ford to Holden, also AJ goes well here and last time Cam and AJ were paired in the GRM car they got 4th.

#33 - Lee is definatly a star in the making, Caruso is starting to show he has got it and GRM have decent cars with decent power this year also they were going well last year until the crash.

#67 - Morris goes well here and if he leaves his boof head tactics at home and lets Russell do the fancy stuff they are up there as the cars are quite good this year.

#51 - Murph usually turns up at enduro time even if his season is going crap and Jason is showing speed at the moment

#7 - Todd goes well here as do JDR and if he is paired sensibly with enduro specialist Nathan Pretty they showed last year they are capable.

Fords chances:
#6 - showed last year seperating really isn't an option and would of won bathurst last year if it didn't rain fastest car all day and fastest car this year.

#888 - last years winners can't go past them.

#4 - good drivers good car will be up there somewhere.

The HSV car with the Rat and Rick could go very well too.

I set the alarm clock and calender on email and catch up about 4 1/2 weeks.

Too early to speculate.

Might watch the effects of foreign bobies into bodies at the 5 ring circus

So IIRC is this meeting where there are 2 seperate sprints on the Saturday in which drivers can compete in 1 race only and a CPS can be performed in either (not necessarilly Both) races? Or have they scrapped that idea and have stuck with traditional enduro?

Good question stmookeyj033! The schedule on the V8 Supercars website does *not* list the saturday heats!

How do they know that TBA bloke's going to get the win?

Is it all rigged?

Good to see though, that after so many years, TBA finally gets up for a big result.

I was looking forward to the Saturday sprint races, especially with the strategy possibilities of the one CPS.

Yes, good on them for trying. I hope its a success but I have my doubts.

A 500 Kay race around The Island should be fun, but moving from the late November time slot to Sept might scare a few people off.

For my predictions.
