some on the forum suggested the series was rigged and Craig was the chosen one.

Im not a fan of GT but that restart deal just was a bit of a stuff up, everyone kept going.

Mostert just straight up served Kelly into T6.

It was a stuff up because GT threw it down under two cars going into T1 and not using his head.

He may have a point...

They may have changed some of the rules in relation to the AZ speed etc but the core rule of not passing another car before the control line on a safety car restart has been there for years - it appeared that he breached that rule massively on the TV.

Hopefully they'll stick with the same rule structure for SC restarts now and all can get used to it - no doubt some consistency will help.

Why don't we allow passing before the control line? Surely when the green flag waves the race can restart?
At the start of the race drivers are free to race before the control line.

Pretty much what I've always thought. Treat it the same as a rolling start except in single file. It's safe to race, so go race. A lot of faffing goes on around restarts in all series, and rules change by the weekend. It seems to me that's mostly because any version other than 'go' is illogical in some way.

there may be issue though with somewhere like Clipsal, where once the leader gets the green, the last car is still to get around the final turn, which if you allow for racing prior to crossing the control line, you potentially have cars trying to go up the inside trying to overtake into the final turn.

Also makes it very hard to police early jumpers where you need a set of eyes on every car, as opposed to 4 or 5 sets of eyes **cough radar guns cough** just at the control line.

On all the restarts at clipsal, every car was on the straight as the leader hit the frist AZ board. There is no issue with people getting overtaken on the final turn!
