The steps to reduce and make the class cars less relevant is also a step back for the event. Last edited by D.R.T.; 19 Jan 2019 at 23:55. |

Same amount of classes as last year.
However, I'd have thought adding a TCR class might've generated a few more entries from both here and abroad. |

The changes to class I sporting regs has impacted the class heavily. Looking back on the history of the event, class I brought such diversity in entrants, SEATs, Peugeot, FIAT etc
Now it’s just a MARC class |

Except performing in the 2018 Supercars Championship....

Class B is for Cup cars.
Daytona Sportscars were meant to bring their Viper and SIN, but apparently weren't happy with the lap time hobbling the promotors were insisting on. |

Class B is a huge disappointment. Very surprised by the lack of interest from the 100s of cup cars in the country |

Unfortunately not Todd's fault Matt White decided to buy a DJR FGX with no possibility of support, quite possibly the worst decision ever.
Anyway he had a year where he didn't stand out for getting in people's way, causing accidents or slagging his team off, something some other highly rated rookies could potentially learn from... |

Interesting to see there isn’t a single Red Bull logo on the car or the pilots on the 888/STM AMG...

In-car warning system to be utilised, as per several other top-level GT races around the world - https://www.speedcafe.com/2019/01/22...rst-12h-trial/

Thanks E.B.! What with Daytona this weekend and then Bathurst, I’m going to be spending a lot of time staring at a screen in the next two weeks.....

Thanks E.B. If I've got my time zone conversions correct that's a 18:45 GMT race start on Saturday and I'll just have to wait and see what sessions are live streamed.
Edited to add: I must get my Chromecast device set up again |

2019 Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour
Quote:
It’s not strange at all Maybe he just wants the time off before defending his title. As good as it is to see Supercars drivers in the field the main draw for me is seeing who comes from overseas and how they fare. Drivers like Markus Winkelhock are always great to watch. Looking forward to the event as always. |
