I wouldn't discount RollCentre, either....
They were excellent at Sebring and Monza...a good team that really wasn't interested in the "show" of qualifying...they focused on race set-ups.... They will be in the hunt.... |

True Tim, good points. I think they will be right up there, but not podium. The Dunlops will hurt them in my opinion. The Michelins are just too strong over the course of a stint, or two, or four.
As an aside, I wish Rollcentre would have taken a better shot at qualifying, I'm quite interested in the pace that car has. Last edited by jhansen; 11 Jun 2004 at 20:05. |

Point well-made jhansen...forgot about their tires....
Personally, I think with four Audis in the field, that it will be an Audi sweep...but I hope I'm wrong.... |

According to their report on dailysportscar.com, Rollcentre put João Barbosa out early on the second session for a quick lap, he was doing very well in the first session but was stuck in traffic on the second sector and lost too much time. Since they already had the race engine and gearbox fitted in, they chose not to strain them.
I am really hoping for a good performance from them, but I don't know if a podium is possible... it's a team that is too new, give it a year to gain experience and it will fly! |

I would have to pick one of the Pesca cars as having the best chance for a podium finish, due to their experience.

I will say that Henri certainly has the experience....
and even though he was 4th in 2000, they still lacked some pace with that Peugeot power.... But now with the Judd, they could definitely be a player..... |

Not sure of the exact place in the order, gttouring, but it was way down the list...
their best lap was a 4:14....and the Pole was 3:32.838....a number of GTs turned in quicker laps.... That new program needs to be developed.....the "announce in March, try to run in April at Monza and then run in June at LM" was way too short of a time window..... |

I never did hear back from Fogelhund for "revised" picks dealing with just LMP1....
Since others only picked LMP1s as noted for the thread, I'm decalring "two" different sets of winners (after all, it was for fun) With his GTS picks in his Top Non-VAG" selections, Fogelhund was the "High Point Many with 8 points.... Among the rest of us who picked LMP1s only, Dunlop Corner and skycafe tied with 6 points each.... The Actual "Non-VAG LMP1" order was: 1. Pesca #18 2. RFH #15 3. Nasamax #14 4. Taurus Judd #4 5. Lister LMP #20 With any Class included: 1. Pesca #18 2. Corvette #64 3. RfH #15 4. Corvette #63 5. Prodrive #65 Points earned are next to each pick, with the toal below the 5 choices you made: Here is a Summary: Tim Northcutt’s Picks 1. RollCentre #6 - 0 2. Zytek #22 - 0 3. RfH Dome #15 1 4. Thanks for the record keeping Tim. I took a look at things, and couldn't come up with 5 non-Audi's I thought would do well. So, I figured I'd leave things as is, and see what happened. Interesting stuff, and a great race. Interesting that I did get 4 of the 5 next non-Audi finishers right as well.

Thanks, Tim ... that was fun.
I scored 5 points, not bad for a sports car rookie... I really enjoyed the race, it was the first 24h of Le Mans I've followed on more than a "casual" basis and it did not disappoint. Congratulations to all of the competitors, and also "Thanks" to all of those on Ten-Tenths who helped increase my interest in sports car racing with your passion, and knowledge! |

Now when i've accepted my defeat I'm actually kinda glad i was so wrong in my predictions. I mean, it's unpredictability that makes a great race after all, isn't it?
