Does anyone by any chance have any historic LMP1 lap times from Motorland testing to compare those times to?

There was a Dunlop tyre tesT in 2016 with the LMP1 lights supposedly doing mid 1:21's. I would say Manor are only getting a feeling for the car today. Strange the article didn't give a time for the ART car

These are very early tests, so I don't know if lap times are so important for Manor. It's another story for BR because they have been doing tests there before.

CLM was "about tenth of a second faster" than ART-SMP-Dallara P1 if you believe google translate. Also that the RTN Dallara P2 was faster than the Ginetta

Lots and lots of unknowns, so impossible to draw any definitive conclusions, but carrying over the lap time difference between P1 and P2 at Aragon, gut feeling has to be that the privateer P1's really will be capable of sub 3:20's at Le Mans. |

SMP on top, Ginetta 1.5 second behind (lost in translation?, it says the contrary than the previous article)

Do you know if the SMP Racing laptime was done in the cars high downforce package or low downforce package. This picture of the Dallara BR1 was taken at Motorland today. https://image.ibb.co/kqFzi7/Capture_...a_14_57_43.png |

Was the BR1 running the high downforce version when it did the 1:17.6? If not, it seems like the low-df kit is really good for the car. The CLM doing a 1:18 is a definite improvement as well. A 1:17 is 4 seconds faster than before on an 80 second lap, that's about a 5% improvement. If that 5% improvement translates to Le Mans, that's 10.2 seconds from a 3:24 lap time meaning 3:14's!

guess that aragon layout used to test is the one with a long straight from turn 10 to fast left hairpin before turn 16. Anyway great laps improvements

Well, last year at le mans a 930kg/600hp dallara lmp2 marked close to 340km/h....
guess how fast can be a further low drag aero developed dallara package powered by at least 650hp and about 100kg lighter |

Let's just hope nobody's been misleading the ACO.

Lunchtime update from Motorland:
Endurance-Info Slightly quicker time from the BR1, with the CLM 2 seconds back and the Ginetta a further 2 seconds adrift. Seems the Ginetta only did 14 laps this morning though, Paul di Resta at the wheel. Last edited by Bentley03; 20 Feb 2018 at 19:42. I think Kolles is testing new drivers so that might be why they're a little slower. But that BR1 is very fast. I think we might see close to 360kmh this year at Le Mans.

According to the driver's twitter accounts, Vitaly Petrov reached 352 kph with the BR1 yesterday which was topped by Tom Dillmann in the ByKolles with 355 kph today.
Seems both cars are very quick on the straights. I haven't noticed the promised new aero package for ByKolles so far. As it is the first real test for Ginetta it is not surprising they are a bit behind |

If the P1 cars are 4 o 5 seconds ahead of the Dallara P2 in a short track like this, how faster could they be at Le Mans? 3.18 3.15?

If they go too fast; ACO will put brakes on them. Imagine a private LMP1 taking the overall pole-position at Le Mans. Unacceptable.
