i suspect if you tried to charge that battery at home the power drain would blew the grid. pretty sure a five amp plug would not be much use

Most likely you don’t need it to charge in five minutes at home.

Imagine if that is developed and becomes a thing. People would go from cars that need to be driven to somewhere to be “recharged” to ones where you can still “fill up” quickly when away from home and can also have the convenience of “filling up”, albeit at a slower rate, at home.
Of course some way to go, but would be a nice feature for us. I’ve found the recharging at home to be one of the advantages of electric cars. That and the drive train which is a pleasure to use from a day to day point of view. |

My question about the batteries are more a reliability and cost thing. Yep its great they are faster to charge, but what is their capacity, how reliable are they and what do they cost relative to the current used? If they die/need replacing after a year then its not great.

Nothing displaces a 50L petrol tank. It doesn't need a 300 kW line to be filled. And you can wash your hands in it. Not mentioning all other exciting things you can do with it. By the way, how much more than 50% of electricity is still produced with fossils (new coal station in Germany?)? While there's no TOCAMACs all this "green" electricity is a pure politicans nonsense, not mentioning the worse. And electrofans do not care about racing - FE is a great example.

Oreca and Red Bull Advanced Technologies to develop spec chassis for hydrogen class.
Moan groan spec components etc but this probably makes good sense. Times are tough and having a specialised chassis with a standard hydrogen tank will make it easier to get this off the ground. http://www.dailysportscar.com/2021/0...s-chassis.html |

It sounds like the Formula E master plan but for hydrogen, so free powertrain but everything else spec.

So, with Acura announced for IMSA LMDH in 2023, but with both their current factory teams very clear in their Le Mans ambition, we could be looking at a pretty breathtaking LMH Le Mans 24hr entry:
Making some assumptions here, but potentially mad Toyota LMH Toyota LMH Glickenhaus LMH Glickenhaus LMH Peugeot LMH Peogeot LMH Acura LMDH Acura LMDH Audi LMDH Audi LMDH Porsche LMDH Porsche LMDH |

nothing strange, I won't be surprised to see toyota close to 1050kg and glickenhaus <1030kg because of bop... the real question mark will be the weight of alpine R13.

I expect to see mainly semi-backed teams like WRT for audi or WTR/MSR for acura.

It’s a bit of a shame the mandatory 4 banger rule. Would have been nice to have some variety like a straight 5/6 or a V6 option.

OK maybe I got mixed up. Can someone tell me what the engine rules are then please? Or link me to somewhere as I googled it and tried about 4 pages, lots of regulations stuff, but nothing about engines.
Is the Toyota a V6? |
