Rolling starts

The reintroduction of lauch control has seen many cars being unable to leave the grid and therefore pose a threat to cars behind them. I think F1 should have a rolling start to make sure this doesn't happen as it could easily get someone killed when they are smashed into from behind.

No No No No NOOO. Americans need rolling starts because they are incapable of standing still for more then 3 seconds at a time. No driver in F1 got there without being able to get off the line from a standing start. They're all quite capable (most of the time) and it's just the electronics that are causing the red faces at the moment.

What type of rolling start are we talking about? If it's behind a safety car, then I would say No. If it is starting following the formation lap with no passing until after the first or second corner of a particular track to minimise first corner pile ups, then I would say yes.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

The standing start one of the only good things about this wreched sport you call racing.

If they take them out, I will just sleep in on Sunday mornings and watch the much more interesting Cart races.

No rolling starts, thanks. They should use standing starts and make the pilots do it themselves - they know how to start, as they were doing it fine before they were given the crutches to "help" them.

Rolling starts should be confined to oval races.

As someone may have already said here - NO NO NO

- I don't know about anyone else but my heart is thumping as the red lights come on and the excitement is so great its not until the lights go out that the tension is relieved.

I know Murray feels the same !!

We already have CART and IRL for rolling starts. Remember the start of Belgium last year? BORING... So, No, don't introduce rolling starts. Or better still, don't even think about it.

One thing I will say about rolling starts. Their a lot safer. With a rolling start the biggest risk you take is that the cars will not be properly lined up at the start and they will have to do an additional pace lap. However a transition from standing starts to rolling starts would be going against the tradition and heritage of Forumla 1. For me, personally, it just wouldn't look the same with rolling starts. They are allready doing enough these days to devalue the emportance of what was once the most prestigious form of motorsport. So I say keep the standing starts.

Yes to a Le Mans start! Reeboks on, run like buggery....

Another NO, because history shows us that rolling starts are actually more dangerous than standing starts.

However, in saying that, I do have a sense of foreboding about this weekend's race...I hope I'm wrong.
