It’s been dry and some sun but now looks like proper rain and thunder this eve.....

Having literally conned my way in at 0700 this morning , me and the one other truck also to do so have been turfed out again! No paddock entry or unloading until tomorrow.... Still, we both managed to wash our trucks and use the showers.

Appears not wanting to pay for security until the last minute is the issue. No security = no one allowed in.

Well, it all turned into a gunfight last night due to some people who are testing today thinking they could get into the circuit at 8pm last night! Wrong......

So the entrance is now completely jammed up with trucks, motor homes etc., and more are arriving this morning. And while all the chaos was ensuing last night, we had a monumental storm with hail, thunder and lightning that seemed to last for hours.... The grotty car park up by the kart track where most of us are waiting is now a mud bath- so much for washing the truck yesterday!

Once again today we’ll have the chaotic situation of everyone trying to get in, unload, setup, get testing etc at the same time. Why oh why can’t circuit’s and organisers get it into their heads that it doesn’t work......

Seems that AlKamel changed the live timing presentation. it will take a while to get use with it. Certainly the previous one was clear and easy to follow. A good change?

You still have a close relationship with a french TVR it seems… Very good for international friendship!

Took a look.

It seems to lack the number of laps completed and the style is a bit "sweet shop" glitzy. However there's a lot there or available with a bit of clicking. I suspect the font and layout works very well on good sized screens in the garages.

Not so sure about laptop distance screen viewing and tablets could be a challenge.

The phone based version seems quite good given the need to provide drill in options to get at some of the data. Looks OK on a typical smart phone sized screen. Zooms in and out quite nicely and intuitive to use.

Agreed, easier to follow on a smartphone using Android than with a laptop using Safari, for instance. With the previous version you didn't have to click to change from "best lap" to "last lap" for instance. Question of habit I guess. Couldn't find the window where appears the race direction messages so far but saw the red flag warning.

I dont remember having big screen telly in the F3000 pit lane garages…*It was rather old style, just post color era…
Now, you have the type of car along with driver's name. Good move forward.

I suspect they are not actively using Race Control messages for qualifying. Maybe tomorrow it will do something.

Each field being interactive in some way (or at least the ones I checked) is a useful touch. Not sue why the Class identifiers could not be shortened but it might not make any difference to anything else perhaps?

These screens are probably quite dynamic and different for each browser type supported in order to accommodate the limitations of different offerings and versions of them.

Alkamel certainly seem to be doing a lot of business around the world. I assume they must know their markets pretty well.

Yop, to me they are the best at the moment. In no way comparable to what we have down here…*
As you noticed, I find the PiC feature useful probably because there are not that many in HTC series. I can't believe the 2'56"9 achieved by the de Borman's Grp 1 Capri… This is really fast.

Our drivers did a 3-04.5 and a 3-04.2 which were excellent times. The track seemed to be very quick last night, with a lot of people beating previous bests! The Stephens also went well in the family 356, well ahead of other similar Porkers and also a couple of 911s. Less of the latter in 60s Endurance as they have their own first ‘2 litre cup’ race. ‘Lot of testosterone out there’, according to Will Stephens, as he watched them going out for FREE PRACTICE! Qualifying should be even more interesting , with ‘new’ to PA Porsche entries including Father and Son Jordan, and Martin O’Connell / Sandy Watson......

The new Alkamel screen took a bit of adjusting to, but has some improvements over the previous version. Time will tell after we’ve used it a bit!

60s Race is 1950hrs this eve, when looks like it will be quite cold, but dry. Before that there is CER FP this morning, and qualifying at 1805hrs, so a busy day. Main concern is whether there will be any food left at the evening do by the time we get there, but the HTC drivers are racing after us, finishing at midnight, so certainly unlikely by then!

And 33 Group C is a real success, before LMC. Did you notice that some 911 enter both Sixties and 2.0 L Cup?
Dont worry about food, there's always too much! Well, OK, all the good one will be away when you arrive at La Source… Good time for diet, may be?

Also lost time this morn after a Bizza destroyed the armco somewhere!

60th anniversary today of Archie Scott Brown being killed racing here. No mention- guess not well known enough in Europe. Shame,he was a legend and hero to many!

A truly remarkable man. A lengthy but good interesting read from a 1986 Motor Sport regarding his life and the difficulties he faced.

Thanks Gerard! P22 at the moment, but you never know- there may be the odd penalty for some..... OK, first in GT3, but they combine with GT2 for ‘under 2.5l’ podium, so prob 2nd or 3rd in that as one 26R didn’t break.... Regardless, a strong result after a faultless run.

And there is still food, albeit slightly less hot than optimum!

From the computer point of view, it was obvious that everything was going loud and clear. I dont mean piece of cake! Important too, last year's bad luck seems away…

Oh, yes, I heard about that! A true scandal. Some say it might be related to a certain guy belonging to the TVR French Owners Club… Ou alors avec les bonnes soeurs défroquées!

We have prepared our report for your approval...we do not refer to the Abarth crash, but today we learned that the car is repairable, in spite of the sorry state it is currently in.

Understatement of year ! Some work

Work started and finding all bits needed, as it’s so unusual, is not easy.

Off on someone else’s oil

Pity. It was originally rebuilt whilst I owned it and it has to be a labour of love
Good thing present owner is Abarth crazy!
