Prototypes have been banned this year... running touring cars and prototypes on the same track didn't really work out last year...

Last year, the guess stars were Valentino Rossi, Andrea Bertolini and Emanuele Pirro;
this year there should be Pirro again, Michel Fabrizio (WSBK), Gianmaria Bruni.. and we still hope for Vale46 ;-) the race is in November, not this week.

Yeah, throwing out the prototypes actually helped that race... when they had the LMPs in the field, they had only very few cars in the top classes and it was often rather obvious who would end up winning in the end - but this year about a dozen of cars could end up on the top of the podium.

I agree! With this rain, all the top 10 (Gold Cup) and Renault and BMW in Silver Cup could go for the top five and maybe podium:
