Customer engines
Does anyone know how these deals work? Are there any improvements through the year, or do they get the same engine from Australia to Japan? Is there a fixed number of engines for the season? If Sauber were to sign up for Friday testing, would the cost change?

Depends from deal to deal me thinks.
I couldn't see how a costumer ford-engine gets developed, because it already is (and its in the back of the factory-backed car). |

The Ford guys get old engines, so I'd guess there aren't any developments - apparently Ford Europe are developing the Jordan plant a bit, but how true that is I'm not sure.

In the olden days(1970's)you bought your customer Ford DFV from Cosworth, then you rushed it down the road to your engine tuner, i.e Nicholson for McLarens,he got it up to speed for you.
