I am sure that blackx will add his thanks as well greenbean, but from a marshal's wife's point of view I would like to add my thanks to the powers that be for the consideration they gave towards the marshal's on saturday as well. The CoC told the drivers that they were only going to be getting the 2 practise runs on the sat as it was far too hot to expect the marshal's to have to put up with the heat for much longer......
This meant that everyone was able to re-hydrate themselves ready for the sunday's racing...... Pic below was taken at around 4pm on the sat..... |

Not only did we finish at three but as we came off the hill there was one of the senior drivers waiting with his wallet...he invited all marshals to the bar so that he could thank them personally for staying out in the heat and to buy them all a drink...one rescue crew member was heard to say as we came down the hill "only another four and a half hours to go at Donington!"
Well done H & D L C C...and thank you Mrs BlackX for cooking our chicken!!! |

It was a very social afternoon/evening, even though Harry let the side down and got a tad tiddly and had to cling on to the windbreak to remain upright!!
But then Loton always has given us some momentous occasions..... I can recommend Mrs Black X's cooking too( when they can keep the BarB going ! ). A good weeknd of fun Motorsport but most of all, a damn fine Chill Out in great company on the lawned terrace of Mr and Mrs ( and tiny two ) Black X's abode.....Cheers everyone |

But why does Stu have his back to you all while doing the 'cooking'. Was he adding alternative ingredients without your knowledge Mrs BX?
