Snetterton just 95

Heritage Trackdays have their first trackday of the season at Snetterton on 16th February. It is just 95 per car and 25 for extra drivers. Passengers are free.

I'd love to do it, and could afford that, but I've got no experience, and a small, pretty slow car

That is no problem. We are running sessions so you could be in the novice group. Also we have instructors available which I would recommend.

Hmmm, it's worth considering then!

What do I need, apart from myself, and my car?

You don't need anything apart from you and your car and a driving licence of course! You can hire a helmet if you don't have one.

What car do you have out of a matter of interest - obviously not the DBR9 in your piccie!!

You'll tend to find that most of the people who attend trackdays in expensive cars are *VERY* conservative, so although you'll get mullered down the straights, you should be able to stick with them in the corners.

Another reason to take a slow vehicle is that you will earn the track a lot better and your technique will improve, simply because everything will be happening that much slower. No harm in that.

Go to an RMA trackday & watch the people driving the most expensive cars - they usually miss their clipping point by a good 5 feet on every corner, simply because everything is happening too quickly for them. FYI, I'm going to Snetterton this Sunday (13th) with Goldtrack, leaving the Porshce in the garage and am taking a Ford Focus 1.6. Yes, I know I'll get hammered down the 2 main straights, but I'm there to improve my technique, not to go for the land speed record. Also, get a good instructor & you'll be cornering as fast as a 911, which is nice...

Cool, that's good to know. Don't think I'll be able to make this one because I'm working at 4pm that day (unless the day finishes reasonably early, I can be a bit flexible!), but I'll definitely go to one this year.
