Well, that's going to series hurt things for the PowerTour, to state the obvious...
Will the Future Tourers be joining GT Performance or racing in their own category? I'm not sure about the lap times of a FT, so I don't know if it would work. Actually, what have the Future Tourer grid sizes been this year? I havent watced a FT race since the super touring days, and then they were lucky to have 5-6 cars. Basically, I don't think the Australian motor racing enviroment can sustain three brands of racing in the present climate - PowerTour, AVESCO, PROCAR - sooner of later, one will go, and it looks like it will be PowerTour. Super Trucks don't pull the crowds like they used to, The quality of the Super Touring field is terrible, the Stock Cars aren't brilliant, it seems on the Aussie Legends series can really pull a decent field, although I can't say that for sure. |

The future tourers had only about 8 cars at QR
The Aussie Racing Cars aren't contracted to the powertour either, they have an open invite as far as i know, and yes they have pulled the biggest field on powertour events this year, there should be 28 entered at oran park on the 27-28th this month including to new AU falcons !! Still a shame to see the powertour die though as they are very well run and put on a good show... |

Super Touring without setting the 2 litre field on fire, has been building itself up nicley as the season wore on. New competitors and teams entering, so hopefully they can work something out.
The big trucks , what is the plan with them? |

Future Touring needs a name change, right now, they are simply holding themselves up to ridicule with such a silly name.

What's the bet there will be a Future Touring class in the Bathurst 24 Hour now.

Racer69, I don,t think they need a new class. The word is that they can probably run in GROUP 10.which you can pick up the regs on the website at www.bathurst24hr.com
I also heard over the weekend that at least 4 of them want to run in the 24 hour |

It was funny at the QR PT meeting, Luke Sieders had a complete and utter front end implosion, and the jigger just wouldn't budge.
"Where the bloody hell are they going to get a flat bed for that thing?" .... "Well bugger me..." It was huge! By that time of the day you could have stuck the entire crowd on the back of it and trucked off down to the pub... |

Those FT's should run the 24 hours easily. I remeber Bruce Williams saying how when prepared properly, they would not break.
What lap times did they run in 99 |

That was qualifying - depends on what Class A and B really were. |

Wasn't class A proper V8 Bathurst Tourers and class b converted Auscars.
2m29sec, and I supose they would be faster since 3 years ago, not too bad. |

Word on the weekend is that there will be all sorts of dispensations for many of the cars, as they will be allowed to carry all manner of cooling mechanisms to try and help the cars stay on the track. So long as you have something relatively strong to start with, you should be a chance.
