IMSA has their own GT3 races. and they are all Porsche GT3 Cup cars

The colour silver could be Rodger Penske's hair!

There were rumours of Intersport moving to P2 next year. I was wondering if they would be able to use their current P1 Lola's and just drop a different engine in? I know the P1 and P2 Lola chassis' share some parts, but I don't know if I am over simplifying things with that thought, any ideas?

If they're going to buy yet another car for Petit to replace the trashed one, I don't see them moving classes with it.

The tube is the same, suspension and some other parts are stronger for P1, but with a minimum weight of 825kg it seems to be possible to run a Lola B06 in LMP2.

I am pretty sure that is what Velocity intended to do with the ex-Dyson chassis they bought, which is now Intersport's #37 (I believe that #30 was the ex-Cytosport car)...so yes, it must be theoretically possible to convert a B06/10 to and LMP2 car.

On the touring car section a poster states Andy Priaulx will drive for BMW in the ALMS.

It's rumoured BMW's WTCC program is going to be stopped.

Actually if I remember correctly, they swapped #30 and #37 chassis before Road America because of problems with converting the second car to E85.

The current #37 is the ex-Cytosport car, and the current #30 (which was destroyed at Mosport) was the car Intersport used in late 07 and the first 2/3 of 08. But yea, I think they were running only their 1st car on E85 for the time being.

Although if Intersport will have the ex-Charouz Lola Judd or a Lola coupe, I'd assume that it would become #37 and the ex-Cytosport would become the #30.

David Scotney/Lola confirmed this a few years ago too.

Not over simplified to much, the main differences, and they are easily resolved. Weight, engine assy, fuel capacity, wheels and the frontal impact structure. The structure for P-1 can be used in P-2 (rated higher) and if you went the other way a P-1 structure would need to be installed.

Mika Salo is saying he will quit ALMS after this year and unless something interesting turns up for next year he'll retire. Salo will test some kind of stock car, but he has no interest in a full time ride.

most guys earn money when they race. And very few are on a yearly contract. Seams like only Porsche and GM have a few factory paid drivers.

Other drivers on a handshake agreement, they race and do well they get paid.

They dont do well, they get their check for that race and go walking

I think Ferrari/Maserati have factory drivers and I think Mika is one of them, just his contract is up this year.

where did you hear that ? BMW is more than happy in touring cars now, they are winning as a factory and with is privateers, plus the M3 GT2 is an Amrican effort backed by the factory, so I am sure that Schnitzer and RBM will continue in next year WTCC
