On tracks where there is little chance to pass, they must have pit stops and different tyre compounds to add some life.

I have been watching the Touring cars since the 70's and that was the worst. Keep this up and I'm going to Lawn Bowls.
That is going to be the inevitable result of every car being identical.

And that's exactly why you need fuel, tyre stop and compound influence.

I wonder if the guy who put a sticker on the bottom of the BJR car a few years back is going to be knocking on Dumbrells door?

Could probably get some good airtime on the roof of the #55 aswell

Don't 'dis' Lawn Bowls !!! It's never 'boring' !!

Whilst as a spectacle, it may not be as 'exciting' as motor racing! If you were to participate, you'd have a different opinion of how 'boring' you think it might be!

You'd also be welcomed at any Bowling Club.

Pye's accident making news around the world! Was great that Pye walked away without a scratch, but it's also great exposure for the ekol and Sargent Security guys! Not the best way to get exposure for your brand, but it always seems to be bad news that get's the exposure these days I guess.

well done to BJR, the small team punching above their weight and delivering the goods, top effort.

how 'bout that hit for Scott Pye, at least he's okay, pity the car or him won't be at Pukekohe, too short of a turnaround for repairs, #80 will be back for Perth.

btw. who's hair-brained idea was it to have the New Zealand round ONE WEEK after Tassie??? After what happened to Pye, they should have realised this probable situation could have arisen (here's the kicker, no-one has their spare car built).

for the sake of everyone, this is V8 Supercars...NOT NASCAR!!!

As far as I can see, frosty did it all by himself.
My only regret is that it happened just lap too soon.

Bottom line. fpr thew another winner away. For a change it wasn't a pit

Just watched yesterday's press conference and I thought Frosty came out with the line of the year so, the MC said what do u think about 888 not getting on the podium today

Frosty it's not all about 888 it's about the rest of us and the blokes up here.

Was a great weekend of racing down at Symmons Plains - what a great circuit to visit as a spectator. Really good that the series hasnt outgrown the old style Australian circuit yet. Thumbs up from me, recommend V8 fans jump on the ferry & go down to this event...
Great to see BJR win too & great to see Red Bull back in the pack with the rest of them - there merchandise sales are huge & i dont understand why everyone loves Lowndes? Whincup has bent him over the last 5 years, guess i just aint a fan & get sick of seeing his head everywhere

If the tyres are so weak they'd be damaged by a bit of undertray, then Dunlop has failed. How will they handle the kerb on the exit of turn 2 at Bathurst if they're that fragile?

If race control were that concerned they could have sent a marshal out under double waved yellows (which means slow and prepare to STOP) whilst the cars were bunched up and they have an easy 30 seconds to clear it. It was done that way for many years.

Even in F1 you see larger bits of debris being left on the track, including parked cars in some instances, without a safety car being triggered.
My above point was made brilliantly today at the Chinese Grand Prix. Gutierrez's car was recovered at the end of a very fast straight, under yellows.

Why does Tim Shenken continue with rubbish safety cars like the one at Pukekhoe today collecting the car that was very safely parked off to the side of the pit entry? Incredibly frustrating and makes V8 Supercars look like a joke.

Edit: Webber's car too!

alternatly why do F1 continue with such dangerous practises.

you are suggesting that a car well of the track being recovered is the same as a piece of debris on the track. you actually want someone to run onto the track mid race while cars are scotting buy at 200kmh

webbers car was well of the racing line, and not in he middle of a fast corner

We lost at least one lap of racing at Puke today due to Shenken's ridiculous decision to recover the car from pit lane entry. The debris that triggered the safety car had been cleared already and everyone faffed around like a bunch of amateurs with the vehicle recovery. To take such action in a time certain race just adds insult to injury.

Sometimes I wonder whether Chrysler has been promised a certain amount of exposure per season and they need to make up for Adelaide..

Everyone is an expert with the bonus of hindsight and not having the responsibility of the safety of all those on the track and marshals/workers on their head should **** go wrong.
