TSR has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
2009 V8 Champ

The 2009 V8 Champ will be Jamie Wincup after the Sydeny 500. So Congrats to Jamie and all at Tra888tor racing. To go back to back as the first driver since Marcos Ambrose ( Who can not race at Sydney, thanks TC? ) is a big task, the only down size is that you will be runnning for the dark side in 2010.

Congratulations JW on a superb Championship win. Sad to see you go to the dark side but thankyou for your success in the Falcons.
P.S. Which Holden driver will be given the job to take out JW in Sydney?

Its not locked in at all. Jamie is NOT 20009 champ, yet. Theres a chance he wont be aswell.

Just like those without premature ejaculation, it will still happen, just hasn't happened yet.

Stealthy,
I get your point, but I just tried to put $100 on Will, to win the championship, but sadly cant get on anywhere on-line, all closed on the series, even Bet 24-7 aren't fielding on the series anymore ?

So there's 300 points up for grabs and Whincup leads Will by 281 points? JW will drive Saturday's race at Homebush with one arm out the window and then go for it on Sunday.

All it takes is one dumbo move late in the race, not drive-thoughable, and then he loses points....

It probably wont happen, but it did to Schumi in 1997....

Stranger things have happened.... but probably wont here.

JW had that happen last year, so it is possibly

Will has not had two such high results on the same weekend this year. but i guess jamie has tended to show him a clean pair of heels or year, so if you take him out it moves Will up

Here is something to think about.

What if Mr Whincup does a Hamilton '08? He gets his car plastered in qualifying/practice. The thing is written off and cannot enter in either race?

Would he be able to enter in another car? Would the team work 24/7 to get it to a point where can just lurk around in 25th or so?

Would he enter a shiny new 888 Holden, which by all reports is finished?

Would he jump into a spare 888 Falcon chassis? Would he jump into Lowndes' chassis?

And then, would Will win both races?

All of this has about as much chance of happening as Billy Bigtime attending a Mark Skaife testimonial dinner as a keynote speaker...

I wonder if 888 will roll out the new holden chassis? Are there any rules prohibiting it, or any contractual issues?

Yeaah i am thinking the same,

with little or no preseason testing will they roll our their new 888 Holden POS for JW to have a play in now that the championship is a sure thing??

That would also rub salt into the wounds of all the ford fans out there.

The car/log book presented for scrutineering is the ONLY car that can be used by a driver. There is no cross entering allowed.
Spare cars are forbidden in VESA (cost control).
888 will be prepared for a massive pre-race-1 rebuild this weekend if required (you can bet on that punters).

or at the very least there may be some missing parts from Car 888 if required for Race 1 or 2 to ensure Car 1 reaches 28th in either race...

and Will has to earn 300 points....everyone will be going for the first win in Sydney so odds on JW has it in the bag.

I'd like to think that Jamie will pay some respect to Ford in his winning speech, given that the word Ford appears to have escaped his vocabulary all year. I know that he has probably been told not to acknowledge them at all, but some people have long memories and if he has any desire to go to Nascar, he may not want to poop in the Ford nest as they could potentially be his employer again.

After all...he has said he "is just a race car driver".

Well done to go back to back, hopefully he can beat all the other Holdens again next year, just not all the Fords!

But they are just racecars. When Ford stopped their funding, that stopped all alliance with the name ford.
