Well what an intresting day of racing, only 9 rolled there cars.
probably one of the best whole day of racing i have enjoyed this season so far.
The only down side of the day for me and quite a few of the other marshals was being on post all day without a lunch break, but hot food(take away) was given to all marshals(bit of a butt kissing thing).
But it`s days like this that shouldn`t happen, when the safety and welfare of the marshals are put at risk, even more so when there is an accident and then that also puts the drivers at futher risk after the accident.

Moan over.

But like i said the racing did keep us entertained all day long

A message from The Clerk of the Course.

After the dissapointment of Lydden and bearing in mind the weather on Saturday day and night I would like to thank everybody for their hard work and general bon homme yesterday. I thought there was a terrific atmosphere combined with the hardest and fairest driving I have seen for a long time. The number of reports I received all of which were acted upon was the lowest for many events and it was not because the observers did not report it, the reasoon was the driving standards. Unfortunately guys and girls now you have proved you can race in sizeable grids in very slippery conditions and not punt one another off you know I shall expect nothing less in future - well done.

May I say a very personal big thank you to the marshalls - without your contribution and particularly giving up your lunch break we could not have finished the event. Rallycross is not like circuit rcing where each race is an event in itself. In Rallycross we have to finish all the races to get a result. Again thanks for your understanding.

Finally the sight of a car many feet in the air up side down is scary to say the least. But when I see another driver who has crashed his car whilst trying to avoid the accident get out his car and run to his fellow competitor to see if he is alright I realise the true spirit of rallycoss. To the individual concerned - I and all my team applaud you.

Perhaps I now know why I spend my time and money officiating. It is for people like him and the many others (some who had even had a bad day) who come along at the end of the day and say thank you for allowing us to participate in our chosen sport and hobby.

To the whingers and moaners and those who like to attack officials like Steve G and me you will never win because the majority of Rallycrossers are great people to spend the weekend with and their opinions I welcome listen to and act upon if it is in my powers.

To the all the winners my congratulations. To the others thanks for a great day and to those who suffered damage I hope to see you again soon.

KA aka Tony Watts

Again thanks to all the marshells and crew that stand out in the rain so we can race. Think the marshells had quite a busy day on track, you would think the "roll a nova" challange had started again
Just glad all the drivers got out safely, especially Mick Duke and Bill Harbour, both where massive accidents.

Well done to our Ric who picked up 3rd in BTRDA and Steve who's looking quicker at every event in the metro, came second in B final so wont be long before he's in the A final.

I had a day to forget. A rad hose failed in practise and so in the panic to get things fixed we forgot to check tyre pressures on the new tyres we fitted for the first heats. We soon found that yoko's don't grip well at 45psi!
The rest of the day was an uphill struggle as the metro had various problems and was way off the pace. I only made second row of the B-final, but i got off the line well and was in 2nd behind tony lynch into first corner only to be tagged form behind and sent spinning, finishing second from last

Roll on the second half of the season, it can only get better.

That was mild showers.

Done a bike test earlier in the year and had to cancel the Sunday,
the weather was that bad you could have gone round on a jet ski

also, almost forgot.

A bit of incar footage from Steve Rattue at the wheel of the metro in the BTRDA B final (Not fantastic quality footage unfortunatelly, but better than nothing).

He's getting quicker, just needs to keep that throttle pedal buried a bit harder and longer

No, but i've got a scab on my face from a flying part of his car, dislodged as he rolled past me. Unfortunately I didn't have time to identify what exactly hit me.

Is that any help?

No that was Bill Harbour with the Nova driver who checked up on him.
But on the exit of Honda Duke was clipped by another car after Lawfords accident, he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
