Why do they have a different timing line for qualifying instead of the start finish line?

Shorten the lap, alternate line means they can go right to the pits instead of another lap

Sorry not shorten but arrange the lap so they don't waste time making another lap around. Guess it gives us more laps to challenge the order

AMR safety crew trying to punch out a fire on RHR's exhaust. It didn't seem to bother him, reach out, smother fire, grab snatch strap, smack fire, it's fine

And reduces the amount of cars not in a quick lap that are out there.

I think it’s a brilliant idea. More series should see it.

Would have been really useful at the long lap Le Mans for hyperpole.

Yes, I can see how important that would be on a long lap like Road America.

I can't remember if I had noticed this in years past.

I do wonder what it does to actual lap time vs "standard" S/F line. Depends on track layout I guess but it could be slightly faster or slower depending on how they throw away the next corner

I don't think I thought about it until Detroit where there was a dude with his arm through the fence with the flags.

Is it a 2023 thing? I only remember seeing it this year. Although for some reason I’m seeing more Q this year.

Will Power really getting into being Powery. Go off the track. The track is bad (specifically the off track hit!). Dixon, obviously hasn’t got over it. And now an out of the blue Grosjean needs a punch in the face for what he did in practice. In case you didn’t realise Power didn’t get through.

Graham Rahal says the track is a beautiful place.

I think I know what he was complaining about in the practice and that's Will not liking other cars on track. Romain was on pace like Will was and he wanted to get around. Sorry Romain can't jump and move just cause you wanted to pass in a non passing spot
