What a drive by the saleen tho, start from the pits and then win, congrats to them, congrats also to Martin and Simon, an excellent drive from Simon really setting Martin up to take a brilliant and well deserved win! Anyone else go?

Yup. I was there, I took my friend's son and we enjoyed it immensely! He was rooting for the Speed 12, I was there for the Saleen... I won!
By my reckoning, we were missing a few cars though! I can understand the lack of Morgan, it had a bigger fish to fry and our paths will cross in just over a month ()
Where were the other Ultimas, the Stealths (as invisible as their namesake!) the TFM Marcii, the Mustang etc?!

Yes,it sounded great, but in words of my 9 year old charge, how come it looks so fast yet goes so slow?

it was misfiring i reckon? was it just me or did it have no sponsorship on it? did you see the slightly hairy moment at abbey? the porsche of sudgen/o'rourke (i think) spun right in front of the Lotus, very close!

when they were forming up just off the track all the cars pulled away very quickly but the ultima was pushed up to there then almost stalled as it pulled away then kept missing and backfiring, ouch!

And another thing, do the TVR pilots drive it gently for fear of breaking it? I only ask because they get on the gas coming onto the main straight a long time after the Lister and the Saleen, which just seemed to hammer it as soon as the car was settled after the corner

the TVR has much more power going to the back wheels than the others, and has less weight over the back, if he powers it too early they just go sideways as they showed in the paddock as i was standing about 2 foot away I liked it a lot!

The red Porsche? at that moment we were just after bridge, saw it recovering, but not the incident itself. The Ultima was utterly bereft of sponsorship, and there was a silver example in the car park with a bigger rear wing! The first Lotus driver struck me as doing well for what must be an oldish car... I always have to support any Lotus a bit! Also, one of the Marcoses was quicker than I thought possible, or likely!

A good weekend, Osella, did you ever find a campsite?

The turnout was disapointing, hardly any GT class Simon drove an excelent 1st stint, but the Jones car wouldn't let him past to lap them. The Saleen with its fuel leak and having to start from the pit lane added a twist to the race.

It seems that the Lister and Speed12 almost had the legs of the Saleen, I think the the TVR could have a chance next time at Knockhill. But I'm willing to put money down that if its wet the Short/Pullan TVR could get an outright win. The new Lockie/Davies Ferrari surprised me in white, I was looking for the red one!

Yes Simon's drive was excellent, although methinks the Jones Twins could be off his Christmas Card list. I also thought that Shane Lynch did well in his stint (continuing to shake off the 'rich pop star playing at it' tag)

A good race but more GT's would be nice, and why the white Ferrari colour scheme??

I guess the white paint as it is the new car, 2002 spec I think, and they have not had the time to paint it red I guess.

yeah i was getting a bit ****ed off with the Jones Porsche, i was at Priory for that part and was watching the Lynch TVR getting closer and closer! nemind. I thought the Speed 12 was on great form, wonder if the Lister was off form but if not the season looks like it could start to get interesting what with the top three levelling out! Cant wait for the next round .

Yes we found a campsite- Whittlebury Park, adjoining the circuit (sort of) at Copse. Easily found, near Toaster.

The Ferrari was red at Donington in the earlier round, so don't know.

Not sue if Veloqx are going to change paint scheme, will have to wait and see, but did anyone notice the number change? 1st 2 rounds they were running as 48, they are now as 88, its to do with it being a lucky number, meaning luck and wealth or wealth and power. Was told but can't recall now!

A good start for the new car, 2nd on it's debut. The GTO class is looking more promising than GT

If I remember rightly the owner is Chinese and I would guess that there is some significance in the double 8's.

So the Stealth cars were not there. Thats why they didn't appear on the results. Will they be back for the next race?

Simon Pullan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Thanks for the congrats. Martin and I are really happy with how the car is going now and now I know all the facts I'm upset with the Jones brothers for trying their hardest to stay ahead of me.

As for the Ferrari, if the film Rogue Trader is to be believed then 8 is a very lucky chinese number as Jason and Piglet said, so 88 would be a good number to have. I doubt they will paint it though.

Unfortunately there will not be any Stealths at Knockhill this weekend but there are two differing rumours as to why. One is that they have no money and the other is that they are going to concentrate on doing the next Belcar round.

yeah, a good race from the british GTs.

Osella, I was also on Whittlebury Park campsite, on Friday and Saturday night. I was towards the bottom of 'Kennel' in a white XR2i with blue rear lights.

Thanx for the info Simon. My interest has lessened now they have gone. Maybe I'll back your car more to make up for it.

Ooops. That meant to say I'm NOT upset with them. I was at the time but after I learnt all the facts I wasn't any more. I feel really embrassed now.
