Ugliest BTCC car ever

Sorry if this has been done already.

My vote for ugliest car goes to the Toyota Carina from 1993. Absolutley hideous.

The '93 Carina wasn't that bad!!

I think Auto Express ran a competiton that year for a reader to design the Toyota livery.

I would say that the Renault 19s looked worse than the Toyotas.

Mazda Xedos 6, or whatever it was called from the early-1990s. Believe the esteemed Wattsmeister piloted one. Horrible colour scheme - purple/crimson with splashes of yellow.

Horrid car, not so great performance either.

Got to agree with you about the Mazda, Schoey.
Personally I never liked the Vodafone Nissans simply because I detest white cars

The Renault 19 was a pretty ugly car. The Rover Vitesse was ok, but the Hepolite Glacier sponsered Steve Soper driver car in 1983 looked awful with the rusty orange livery.

And in 2001, while the cars looked ok, i can't stand those rear wings.

I agree. The Renault 19 wasn't that bad, but when it had the white wheels it was abysmal. It looked better with the black wheels.

I also agree about the Alfas. The 94 car was big and ugly but got the job done. I liked the way the 95 Alfa looked.

The Mazda liveries were always a bit dodgy but the Xedos 6 wasnt a bad lloking car. Talking of Mazda's what happened to the Team Dynamics 323F that Matt Neal raced in the '94 TOCA Shootout?

Yeah, I agree. At least Mazda came up with something original in their color scheme. Look at the BMWs from 1992, they were sooo ugly!

They were the best looking cars. Matt Neal's red Nisan was also great.

As for the ugliest car, I think Nigel Albon's Renault 19 was ugly. The silver Audi's were a bit dull. Also '94 Mazdas, all fords and '98 and '99 Nissans. As for the nicest I love the 94-98 Peugeots.

The nicest cars had to be the 1994 alfa they absolutly ripped the opposition and they were the first to have front wings and a rear spoilers. The uglies car had to be the 93 pug 405 and every ford ever entered and the 1996 private nissan primeras.

The ugliest car has to be the renault 19.

as for the nissans, i thought they looked great that includes the vodafones and team dynamics!

the alfa 155 was fine what are you complaining about?

I rather liked those...For me, it was better than what the yellow and blue of the 1994 Renault had to offer!

'94 Alfa? Ugly? It was GORGEOUS! But I do agree about the Renault 19s. Hideous and green livery of the '97 Lagunas. Yuk. Same goes for last year's Alfa 147s.

My vote has to be any Ford Sapphire - who drove that blue and yellow thing that appeared once or twice? Absolutely foul.

It appears to be the colour scheme rather than the car (except when it comes to the R19).

Personally I liked the Group A rovers and whilst Soper's wasn't the prettiest it did win the championship, only to have it taken away again on appeal.

Based on the fact that the BTCC or British Saloon Car Championship as it was known, goes back some years, I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the Masaerati from 83, or the Ford Falcon from '64.

I liked the Mondeos in facelift form but the Renault Laguna in any colour just ain't my particular cup of rosy.

Nothing wrong with the Falcon- particularly in Alan Mann red and gold....

The Alfa Romeos 147s are ugly in terms of design. The front end of the Alfas is the worst.
