Cestrescir Race Day - Oulton Park - 30/08

Just got back from Berlin and haven't got final instructions for Saturday, so, any takers in letting me know the necessities please? I've got the timetable from MST though, just hope I've caught up on my sleep by then...

The usual really......sign on at about 7:45

8 races I think, including the tedious T-Cars.
I understand it's on the Full Circuit and the list of volunteers looked a little sparce, so I would think your contribution would be appreciated!

Well, MST are saying Fosters, although I do remember reading full circuit a while back somewhere (probably full Calendar from Autosport).
Thanks a lot then, see you there

Go,

It was me, but unfortunately I can't make this weekend's festivities.

You should be OK for the first meeting or two without probans. Just don't wear red!!

If you do go have fun, and I hope it doesn't go with quite the bang that garcon's first meeting did

I have a pair of overalls that I am prepared to let go for free.
They're a few years old and a bit faded (Except where I took the badges off)
They're BIG....anyone who knows me will know just how big!!

Ideal for someone who isn't yet sure about whether to commit to marshalling full-time.

Anyone interested PM me & I can bring them to Oulton on Saturday!

If yours are too big, I've got a spare (non-proban!) set available on loan. They are size 96.

Probably being a muppet, but what on earth is the significance of 'Cestrescir' in the race day title?

Ideas - a. 'Chester' in Roman;
- b. another new corner name at OP;
- c. Russian billionaire about to buy Oulton Park, Minardi F1 and manchester Utd???

It's Anglo-Saxon for 'Cheshire'.

Yes we are short on marshals for this weekend - and it is International - Ali G confirmed this at the weekend. By my reckoning I think we'll have 4 incident on each corner and 1 everywhere else - so the more the merrier. Also there's only one observer per post and one flaggy at every point!!! COuld be a whole heap of fun - so no doing anything silly drivers - and everyone else make sure you have your Weetabix!!

Whose job is it to think up names for the names of the BRSCCNW racedays? Is it done by committee or by one person - just curious?

PS I like them and it adds to a spot of interest when you get your programme wondering what the day is going to be called.

I think you will find most of the BRSCC racedays have a fancy name - thanks to BRSCC HQ

There was a classic a couple of years back at Donington,when it was an obvious misprint in the BRSCC green book and it got continued with right through to the printed race programme.
