Birkett 6 Hour Relay

The up coming 6 hour relay has one very interesting entry its called Baby Bertha.
Now that would certainly make my day if it does race.
Also look out for the A C Cobra team, drool drool.

Always one of the best meetings of the year, if a car pulls off on the circuit & is declared a failure another team car can join from the pits, so the track is always busy & the entry ensures huge speed differences (Bluew Flag wavers beware!) If you see a familar bulk in the Safety car, give me a wave (1 or 2 fingers will do)

Thinking of going along to this to film it. What is the Relay concept? straight endurance racing?

Also is there camping at or near the circuit?

Teams of (approximately) six cars. When one car from a given team pits (or stops out on the circuit) it is replaced with another car from the same team.

The team with the most laps wins the 'scratch' race, but there is also a handicap element.

so each team always has a car racing throughout the 6 hours then.

sounds good. what time does it start?

Forget trying to blue flag the leader - you'll never know who it is. Just work on the 'faster car screaming up behind you' school of marshalling. Anything like last year it'll happen after about 3 laps of the National circuit and carry on for the rest of the 6 hours (except for SC periods when you can change flag colours from blue to yellow!).

Great fun though, sorry I can't join you.

Al.

This meeting provides the best blue flag training anywhere constant change of cars ,speed differential, safety car periods etc. like a flag training day with the added bonus of a real race .

TFC remember your the pace car you not suppost to lead the most laps or loose the yellow lights froms the roof of the car

As for waving what colour flag is it again I keep forgetting.

Now I remember Blue to those that where in front of you as you pass them and white when your past the flag post. And yellow when the roof lights are on
