Seat mounting

Hello.

Im currently building a classic mini for hillclimbing, and I am trying to sort out the driving position. Are there any guides or advice on how the side mount seat brackets should be fastened to the chassis? Can they simply be bolted through the skin of the floor pan with washers on the reverse? Many thanks

Scrap the (presumably original seat?) and get a decent one and follow the manufacturers advice on fixings (and I'd then double them!)

Consult a scrutineer as to what is actually required by the regs.

I've seen lots of people in 'classic' type cars where the belts have held just fine but the seat and driver have come loose and bounced around the car. Does no good for the upholstery.

PS Welcome to ten-tenths. Let us know how you get on.
