I think we should mention that one of the BMW GTP cars is still in the running. Much better effort than at Daytona. Although, I'm guessing the constant string of cautions have helped.

2006, the biggest mud bog I have ever seen, was along that area. It had rained for a few days before the race weekend had started, and the traffic in had made that a bit of an adventure for a VW Jetta.

I could see that happening. It rained a lot, but only for a short time (for the end of the WEC race). It was not good just then, but soon dried.
