Is Bruce McPhee OK?

I've seen an unconfirmed mention on the net that Bruce McPhee died this morning. It's from a source I have no reason to have faith in, but that does not mean it is wrong, and I was wondering if anyone had heard anything?

Falc,

The Wikipedia seems to have the same info, but unaware of the origins.

Falc ... knew Bruce had been very ill for a long while so would not be surprised. He was unable to attend Muscle Car Masters this year.

You make the entry when your computer is in a different time zone to the server...

Condolences to his family and friends.

Has there been any confirmation of his passing? Sad if true.

Hi everyone. My name is Cameron Lee and I am the grandson of Bruce McPhee. I can confirm that he did indeed pass away on the morning of 22nd of September 2009. I was the one who updated wikipedia. Our family appreciates the kind words and condolences everyone has written.

Sorry to hear this news Cameron. My condolences to you and your family.
They say that Bruce was the last true privateer to win Bathurst. There have been others who have claimed privateer status, but have still had some access to parts or information.
