There have been some changes at Ferrari since Sunday's Brtish GP, with Binotto remaining as team principal but no longer technical director.

It's easier for Binotto to concentrate on one thing, instead of having his fingers in more than one pies, especially the way the team are at the moment

Following his firing, are Ferrari deliberately screwing over Vettel to make Leclerc look good?
Alternatively, are they in such a mess that they just can't run two cars properly at the moment? Vettel had technical problems in all three of the practice sessions. |

Never assume malice when it can be attributed to incompetence.

From the outside looking in I doubt that Binotto is a good TP, he has outwardly at least not got the cool, calm, control of things that ZB or Toto for instance appear to have. You will never see ether of those looking more than a bit puzzled when things don't go to plan. Ferrari have confusion built into their DNA for some reason. Another team who have management skill problems are Renault & HAAS, I call their style management by terror.

"It would suit party A" isn't really enough for me to start claiming Ferrari are sabotaging their own team. Especially when the same thing can be explained through incompetence. Which Ferrari have displayed many times recently.

I doubt too Ferrari are deliberately holding back Vettel. To me Vettel has simply let his head drop. He had a good race in Hungary, but other than that he’s been nowhere

I also read somewhere that Ferrari said they were running a particularly low downforce set up last weekend (to make up for their engine shortcomings I guess,) but it seems Vettel was unable to adapt to it to the same extent as Leclerc.

Vettel is to get a different chassis in Spain after a small fault was found with the one he use in Britian due to kerb damage.

Vettel needs to hope that this chassis change does the trick, otherwise he’s got nowhere to hide if he’s still putting in below par performances

“Nowhere to hide” is an English language figure of speech that means it will be obvious for people to see. It does not imply that Vettel wants to hide and irrelevant whether they user has met Vettel.

Yes, thankfully we can make observations from our sofa, even if we aren’t always right. We don’t have to meet a driver to judge his race performances

Carlos Sainz: Ferrari driver signs new contract until 2024
'Carlos Sainz has signed a new contract with Ferrari until the end of 2024. The Spaniard joined Ferrari in 2021 as team-mate to Charles Leclerc and has impressed with his speed, consistency and collaborative philosophy. His new deal means his contract is as long as that of Leclerc, who signed a five-year deal before the 2020 season.' It's a good sign of consistency for the next couple of seasons, and the driver pairing looks like they can deliver strong results. Will we see an intra-team battle for a WDC again in the near future? |

Sainz seems to be a Button to Leclerc's Hamilton to me - good enough for a WDC and very consistent as we can see from the results and standings last year, but ultimately just behind in overall pace.
Would love to be proven wrong though as they both seem to be great guys and drivers and duking out for a WDC as Ferrari teammates would be ace. |
