Derwent Motorsp should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
BARC 'Double-Six' Sportscar Event

Just got this Press Release: Did anyone know this was coming?

Racing in the style of Brooklands - spiritual home of the BARC

The British Automobile Racing Club is pleased to announce that it will organise and run a 'Double-Six' event at the Snetterton 200 Circuit on Saturday and Sunday 04 - 05 June 2011.

The event will consist of one fifty minute qualifying session and two, six hour races, one race each day, for two-seat production type sports cars of any type / make and of any age. Cars entered will run to their normal championship or series regulations and will come from the likes of :

MaX 5 Racing Series, Ma5da MX5 Championship, Open Sportscars

Porsche 944 / Club Championship, TVR Challenge, Caterham Academy

Caterham Roadsports, Caterham Graduate Championship, Toyota MR2 Series

MG Owners Club (Class A & F), Austin Healey Championship, Morgan Challenge

Midget Challenge, BCV8, Thorobred Sportscars, Intermarque

Classic Sportscars, Future Classics, Tigers, Jaguar XJS, Jaguar XK, etc., etc.

Cars may run singly with up to four drivers, or in teams of two cars, also with a maximum of four drivers per entry. There will be a series of four mandatory pit stops per race, each of two minutes duration, when cars may swap over in the Pit Lane or leave the pits to refuel. For accuracy, pit stops will be automatically timed between the 'pit in' entry line and the 'pit out' exit line by official Timekeepers.

Entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis at a cost of £1,900:00 per entry with four free tickets to a Saturday evening party / barbeque at the circuit starting at 18:30hrs.

Ends

I think having the MX5 "banger racers" in there will put a lot of folk off!

Parc Ferme between races or......... ?

From reading looks like no refuelling in pit lane. Will be interesting to see what alternative they are proposing.

Looks like good value,IF they can fill the grids, but with that mixture of cars including MX5s,wonder if they'll be using a Safety Car.

You don't fancy sticking in an entry as a warm up to spa then?

What is point of using the BRDC race as a warm up for Spa when 360 have their very own race that I thought had the full might of all !0/!0ths contributors behind it.This is the case gang?
This BRDC is not really historic?

No doubt that's partly because no one knew about it.
