$10,000 fine for Ferrari...

From F1-Live:

Quote:
Despite taking pole and fifth place for tomorrows Canadian Grand Prix, the Ferrari team are not as happy as they could be after receiving a 10,000-dollar fine by Canadian officials late this afternoon.

The FIA announced the news of the imposed fine due to the fact that when Rubens Barrichello spun off the Montreal circuit, Ferrari mechanics went to the Brazilian's aid. The car came to a halt on the finishing straight and it is against the rules for team personnel to take to the circuit in that manner.
Hmmm. $10,000. Not much of a fine when you consider how many hundred million dollars Ferrari have lying around the place. They may as well just have fined them $15.

As far as I remember, Barrichello was the only one on track at that time.
And after his accident, the session was stopped (red flag).

So why would you want the FIA to give Ferrari an even bigger fine?

Valve Bounce has been held in scrutiny for further testing
DonK, I think $15 is a lot less than $10,000.

I've just read the fine had to do whit engineers running through the pit lane, indeed causing a dangerous situation.
Other cars had to drive around Barrichello's car and the engineers.
In that case, a big fine is all right (I think).

But I thought Barrichello's car was wrecked after his crash (at the start/finish straight), so he surely couldn't have driven it around the circuit into the pit lane?
