"New" Adverts

Some of you may have noticed that an advert block has appeared beside the "Quick Reply" box. This block replaces the Google adverts that were appearing above the "Quick Reply" box, it's not "even more adverts" on Tenths, it's simply a different place to display one of the existing blocks.

Obviously if you feel strongly about viewing adverts you can always subscribe for a very modest yearly fee. There's even the option to try subscription for 2 weeks for only £1/$2/AU$2.50

Looks a lot smarter that way, I think.
I never mind the adverts, I still have them on. Once and a while something interesting pops up.
Keep up the good work.

I've noticed a new advertisement that seems to be causing quite a problem. It's happened twice tonight whenever I access this forum.

This add seems to take control of Mozilla Firefox and change the size of my window so that it is a tiny square on the bottom right of the screen. Then a Windows message shows up asking me to install some program. After hitting cancel, my window returns and this forum is redirected to a page which is meant to appear as a Microsoft scan, once again attempting to get me to install stuff.

I'm not sure what banner ad is causing it, since when I back away from this ad to the forum, I get a different set of banners.

That's strange, I'll keep an eye out for this as obviously this isn't acceptable behaviour from our third party advertisers. If you get it again can you find out the name of the program it's trying to install.

I got it again as well, although the ad itself was different this time. The ad is for "DriveCleaner"

If it happens again can you try and get a screenshot and e-mail to webmaster@ten-tenths.com so I can work out what advert is causing it.

I have not been visiting the forum as i have been getting an Ad telling me that my computer is full of pornography websites and they can clean it for me. It got so bad that I couldn't even get rid of the ad and had to exit the internet.

This is the first time that I have been able to access this site without getting the AD.

I've removed a lot of suspect banners from that company and am now re-screening every advert.

Everything seems to be working OK for me now. None of the ad cleaner adverts are appearing. Thanks for whatever you did.
