Looks fine to me Gordon. A quick trip through the car wash and job's a good'un.

I suspect that Esper will win in the elegance stakes but I have seen a few snaps with what looky like some nicely tended vehicles, noticeably a BRM transporter.

The Tyrrell truck from the 70's is still around and is often displayed at the larger meetings. However it was never really the prettiest of things and has been maintained to retain its orginal patina.

Seen some pretty good trucks done by germans last year at the nurburgring , Nice Mercedes (yes I can write that and few years back there was a Healey racer with a gorgeous bus. we should have those here!!! Doesnt Simon Hadfield have a nice old lorry as well?
The speed Zef...nah...mine was made for the lowlands with a 5 speed gearbox. Have to go by Aachen to Spa to avoid the first steep climb at Liege So red Zef Trannies will have the speed record!!!
Gordon sets the pace , thats a good one!

We would have to include the Ecurie Ecosse transporter

Not particularly beautiful, but Allan Moffat's transporter was the first purpose-built one in Australia and done very well.

The Ecurie Ecosse Transporter is now owned by Dick Skipworth, lovely old bus! Everything in it was restored, apparently you need to allow a little extra time to drive it down to Le Mans!

fugly but fast the Mercedes

Theres a guy somewhere who's restored a MK1 Transit with the latest running gear.

200 BHP 300lbft 4WD in a MK1 LWB twin wheel should do the trick nicely

Esper very pretty. Terry Van der Zee who runs my Turner and Merlyn has a converted bus El Sid - it is not as pretty as your lorry but my goodness can it shift!

I love the period tenders and of course the Tyrell lorry which is now owned by a American collector and the Ecurrie Ecosse are very fine examples...

As has been mentioned already some ten tenthers have some special tenders...

If you've got lots of time on your hands read this http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/dodgerestoration.htm

Must be the most comprehensive account of any restoration I've ever seen, fascinating!

Being a one-time trucker - sorry, lorry driver - I've tried for years to find a period transporter and only just missed an Austin 5-tonner on ebay a couple of years back, a single-seater team transporter hailing from 1959 which would have been perfect.

Has anyone seen the Streamliners that were featured in one of the Classic Mags a couple of years ago, I think it was a GM across America promotional car sales road show or something, they were extradinary vehicles and one was restored and sold for bundles at that American car auction seen on TV.

That Futurliner is something else, even now.
The Ecurie Ecosse and Ferrari team transporters were at the Classic, in July.

I went to see the guys restoring this in Newcastle under Lyme. Its going to be amazing when its done - it will hopefully be reunited with Dennis Poore's Alfa at next years Revival. The lengths they are going to with it are amazing.
