Lydden ERC

Hi folks there are two conflicting paragraphs on the Lydden ERC web page.

EUROPEAN RALLYCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP -
LYDDEN HILL RACE CIRCUIT 30/31 MAY 2010

General Gate Admission:
£15.00 Sunday 30 May
£20.00 Monday 31 May
£30.00 for both days including free camping and admission to Saturday evening party by wristband.

then further down the page it says

Camping:
Camping is available for an additional £10 with our weekend ticket. You may camp at the Circuit overnight on Saturday/Sunday only.

Anybody know which one is right?

It's poorly drafted (the lawyer in me... oh dear), but doesn't it just mean that "camping is availiable with our weekend ticket, which is only £10 more than the Monday ticket", i.e. £30.

So you are not allowed to camp over the race weekend, eg. Sunday/Monday?

So jealous I can't make this, looks like a cracking entry and the weather seems to be improving so should be a great event.

At Rallycross Online.

However, if names there are published in italic (3 drivers for Lydden) the given starting numbers do not comply with the 2009 final standings or the FIA rules.

I dont really do any work, just flick between here and Rallycross.com trying to get news on rallycross!

I wondered what the italics meant, but there'll still be racing (they were at France) so it doesn't matter, right?

It says incomplete, so who else can we expect? Hoping Julian Godfrey will be there. Any others?

Yep, they should race, but due to the rules under another starting number.

"Incomplete" till time for entries is over.

Great entry, good to see Lindjell back and hopefully all the Russians will have visas sorted this year.

Would expect to see Rene Munich added to the list as his team mate Meyer is entered in 1a.Surprised Pauwels isnt yet entered.

Anyone know if Rune Joranli is related to Steinar who raced in the late 80s & 90s?

Rune is the son of Steinar Jøranli.

Need to correct myself lads.

Nobody is perfect!

According to Frank he sets only the starting no in italic, if it does not fit with the FIA rules. If the entire line is done in italic, the expected entry is not confirmed yet.

I hope Munnich does enter - his Mk1 fabia is a cracking looking car

Is Pauwels expected to enter this one or are we looking to see Duval added in a Pauwels run car?

Yes! But what happened to Evans? Too bad we don't get too see both Astra's in action... Speaking of Astra's: where the h*** is Sachweh?

Somehow I have the feeling I do miss a lot of names this year:
Sachweh (still building a new style Astra H or I?)
Evans (don't know)
Eklund (we know he was going to miss the 1st 2 and too bad there aren't, 2 Saabs
Tracey (cracking car since Eklund modded it)
Coox (never competed an foreign ERC since he got the right tool)
Pinomaki (too bad he didn't returned otherwise)
Lindefjell (he is on the list, but not seen him so far)
Holte (C30 ready but no money)
Pauwels (did some testing, also with Duval, but missing so far)
Anne (too bad, would like to see more French drivers and cars)
Wild (strange car, but entertaining to watch)

It is even more to bad that there are more capable drivers and cars out there that could compete in some of the rounds, just imagine all the Tracey cars...

I see Ayrat Shaymiev has entered a Peugeot 207 is that JLP's? Does that also mean his old Focus is the one of MDK? While rumors where that was Norkus old car (but he still has his)?

Just finished watching the ERC video and have to say very nice driving from Doran. Is a bit assertive, but that's what makes it good! I think the reason why people perhaps don't like him is his appareance, not his actual driving...

Also, that Clio sounds a bit like the Joranli Vectra and Iversen RS200, don't you think? Very notable turbo whine...

Great driving from the french! Liked the Theuil Golf making a great start and closing the door for Hunsbedt, surprise!

Like the comment of Isachsen: is a Lydden is a circuit for drivers with big balls...

I think it involves that word 'money' DCS. Holte is concentrating on scandonavia this year, developing the new car with the intention of a full ERC assault in 2011. Norkus raced in France, not the tidiest car but gives it plenty of right boot.Oliver Anne seems to be taking some time out with Janin now driving his car.
Not sure about Sachweh, noticed last year his car appeared to have no sponsors decals so i guess money again is the problem.

Had also hoped Coox might make the trip and Van Mechelen too, & how about Andy Martin in 1a?

Shame that Evans isn't competing but we all know that Bardy is more than useful behind the wheel too.

was hoping Marc Laboulle might venture across as one of his ERC rounds, but I suppose there is Faleyras the week before.

Bardy is a big plus - was not expecting that

Well the Astra was expected (with Evans at the wheel though), I thought Bardy might have sneaked out in one of George Traceys cars.

Any chance of Ollie O'Donovan blagging a car for this one do you think? Any other British drivers going to take the plunge?

I hope Hal does get his Clio out in Div1a, he's not had a lot of luck with it so far so I hope it comes good for Lydden.

Julian now on the entry list!

The most up to date version and event info can be fouind on the Lydden Hill site.

And yes you can camp at the track saturday and sunday nights!!! BUT not Monday night. Saturday camping includes access to the Saturday night party, and also fire works display and bar sunday night.

I was hoping that O'Donovan's appearance in the Doran RS200 last year might have been a prelude to him doing this years BRC in the car (which I would love to see!), but sadly not, though of course that would be no good for the ERC anyway.

Sorry to cover an old topic, but whats the situation with "old" cars being used in ERC. I recall something about use up to 4 years after homologation?

I also now see Stephen Bossard has been added to 1a. After his performance at his home event he must start as 1 of the favourites.

One little moan, why is the main picture on the event poster an old british championship pic including a 6R4? Surely something a little more upto date and relevent could & should have been used.
