rallyorange should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Can I still use Avon FF Zetec in single venues?

Can I still use Avon FF Zetec tyres on my rally car for a single venue? They do have the side wall marked with 'for competition use only' Hope someone knows? I've a rally this weekend.
Thanks,
Phil.

Anuauto has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Err...racing people may not know rally regs and rally people may not know what a FF Zetec tyre is. If slick, answer is no. Avon ACB10 (FF Kent) is now E marked anyway so OK. Moulded tread of minimum "WRC type" (17%) required even for SV now.

Thanks for the answer, you are indeed correct! The venue that I went to was very rough, so the Dunlop nobblies worked excelent. Shame about the rule changes though, as this now adds even more expence to the clubman rallying.

Yes, some time ago now, but disgracefully handled by MSC/MSA at the time (much the same as proposed vehicle changes to both stage and road rallying are being played out currently). Of course there was a genuine safety concern. On single venue events, used Avon F3 fronts had become normal wear on quite heavy rally cars they were never designed for (and the same would apply to FF Zetec tyres?). That was no reason to ban all slicks after so much effort had gone into getting them allowed in the first place as a cost saving measure. We all know how 3-grooved slicks would roll the rubber off to the sides far more than uncut slicks.
