But the car is soooo much better this year.

It is - it actually posted decent lap times in practice and qualifying(half a second off pole).

But as we have fun at Joest's expense for inheriting the Mazda curse, it's worth keeping in mind that both cars are still running, and running decent lap times(they're doing 1:39s, and only the three fastest cars in the field are going faster than that with any regularity).

Before we start congratulating them on 17th after an hour and a half, let's also remember that it hasn't even been the length of a sprint race and both have had questions mechanically and one has had a hilarious speedsource style mistake. Not really anything to be congratulating yet.

Not sure if it's already been mentioned - but what is the noise when the Ford GT is under heavy braking? Very noticeable from the onboard.

It seems for many US sports the best way to watch them is to be in the UK!
