[Official] British Grand Prix - Predictions Contest 2022 - Round 10 of 22 - Results

Congratulations to gert on becoming the sixth different winner in 2022 in ten rounds. Congrats also to Beau2 who has taken a slender lead in the title battle from steve_r, who had held it since Round 2.


What happened at Silverstone

Nobody got all three qualifiers, but of the correct qualifying positions, curiously, seven out of the 14 entrants only got Verstappen right in 2nd. Meanwhile, two got Leclerc right in third.

Only winner gert predicted Sainz's win.

The lowest anyone predicted Verstappen was 3rd (chunterer), apart from gert and Aysedasi, who didn't put him in their top ten at all.

Only Aysedasi and wolfhound put Pérez on the podium.

Only gert, Beau2 and crmalcolm put Hamilton on the podium.

Only chunterer put a Haas in the top ten (Magnussen).

The most erroneous top ten finisher people put who did really finish the Grand Prix was Ricciardo (four people).

Vettel was predicted by 5 people and all of those were in places sandwiching his real finishing position of 9th (four people slotted him into 10th and one plumped for 8th).

No-one got Hamilton for fastest lap, Alpine for another fastest pit stop, Pérez for Driver of the Day (although wolfhound had him for Driver of the Grand Prix, the poll of which he didn't win), Haas for Team of the Grand Prix or a Rate the Grand Prix score higher than 7 (apart from Aysedasi who put 8).

Only gert had Sainz as Driver of the Grand Prix.

Nine out of fourteen had the dry race conditions right (everyone else put 'mixed').

gert jumps two places in the championship to move into 9th, while BTCC frog is now joint second with steve_r.
