Well, it seems that most of you guys and myself like racing games a lot. But.....when you're tired of all that cornering and braking....what do you play?

For me....3D shooters. First Doom, then quake and now Unreal. I'm very good at those games.

Not a big fan of strategy games though.

So how about you?

Final Fantasy 7 or Music 2000. Lovely.

I also like sim games such as Theme Park and the fantastic Sim City 3000.

my copy of Shane Warne cricket certainly has taken a good flogging..as well as the Crash bandicoot series..but I also enjoy playing games like Bubble Bobble and tetris with the misses..they are good 2 player games.

I like sim and management games like, uh.. The Sims, Theme Park, Sim City, Traffic Giant, Airline Tycoon etc.
I'm not into 3D shooters, they really don't interest me long enough.
I also like other sport games like NHL Hockey, Baseball Pro, Football World Manager and Pete Sampras Tennis.
And really funny games like Driver and Midtown Madness.
But the best games are Bladerunner, The Settlers series and The X Files Unrestricted Access.

In the beginning there was Wolfenstein 3D. The logical next step was Doom. Doom basically is my favourite game ever but off course it's a bit dated by now. It's not so much the violence and the shooting that I liked, the levels were just brilliantly designed.

In these days it's mainly Mechwarrior III. That is until part IV comes out.
Unreal tournament is good for some action and I like the Sims to wind down. Although I'm about to divorce in the Sims. My wife has an affair and the smashing miss Goth seems eager to help me get over her...
I'm also strugling with my flight sim Flanker II. I always get shot down before I find out they're shooting at me.
Rainbow 6 and Rogue Spear are also favourite's. I've spent quite a few hours drawing maps for those 2.

I really dislike the strategy games you get nowadays. It's all about getting enough resources and not about figuring out how best to attack an enemy. Just save your resources, build a zillion tanks and storm the walls.

Ah yes toth. Doom changed my life. I used to spend at least 2 hours a day playing doom. I even bought a CD with some 1000 extra levels and I covered most of them. And when I played deathmatch with a friend.....there was nothinglike it. One of my greates achievements was finishing the game in ultra violence with no cheats. I still have doom over here and play it from time to time. I have the doomGL patch and the graphics and sound improve a lot......but they're still outdated when compared with games such as Unreal tournament or Quake 3.....however.....those games lack the "magic" that only doom had.

Gerard! A fellow lover of The Settlers! For me the best in the series was the original, with the castles and the like. I also have Settlers 3 but it lacks the magic of the first. The original will always remain one of my top 2 games. It's a masterpiece.

Ok, I'm a real PlayStation-freak and here comes my list of preferences:

all games from Squaresoft, especially RPG's such as the unbeatable Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9.

Metal Gear Solid....I can't wait MGS 2 on PS 2.

Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3

Silent Hill

Well, these are my current favorites.

My favorite non-racing game (is there any other kind) would have to be Virtua Fighter 2. And now Soul Caliber on the Dreamcast. I also dig Virtua Tennis, especially with a few friends, it's awesome in 4-player mode.
