Is Force India for sale?
I was told by someone today, that word on the street was that Force India is for sale?
I wonder does this mean that Sahara may have taken them over to re-coup their debt, or is it just another BS story generated these days? |

Would not surprise me with VJ's situation, and Sahara not being interested in motorsports.

VJ strongly denies team is for sale.
“I take great pride in having been able to put an Indian team on the Formula One World Championship grid and have worked very hard to greatly improve the performance of the team,” he said. “Now that India is finally on the Formula One World Championship calendar, my commitment to Force India becomes even stronger. As Team Principal, I will continue to run the team and I have no plans whatsoever to exit.” http://www.fia.com/en-GB/mediacentre.../friday-1.aspx More BS? |

That article was published last year. Mallay and his companies have defaulted on many loans that used shares in various companies as security.
As the companies that now control those shares have little, if any, desire to be involved in F1 it is obvious that they will try to sell those shares when possible. Also as control of the majority of the shares changes the position of Mallaya as team principal will be in doubt. |

The financial situation of the team will not have improved after yesterdays decision that all costs for the recent court casr with Mike Gascoine & Caterham have to be paid by Force India, indeed they have 14 days, from the date of the hearing to make an interim payment of over £650, 000.

Either support you're statement "word on the street" or just go back down the pub. |

Sounds a bit fishy.
Is this a case of "A taxi driver told my sister's daughter's boyfriend that Vijay Mallya's cousin's brother told him that he was selling the team"? :P |

rule of thumb: everything in life is for sale. particularly things that are expensive to run and provide relatively few gains.
which covers wives, children and f1 teams |

No I don't.
I just find it objectionable when people are allowed to start ridiculous threads without even referring a source. I get told off by the mods on the occasions I post something "off topic" yet here is a completely unsubstantiated thread started for no other reason other than to fish for comments and provide amusement for the poster. There has to be some quality control otherwise this forum, which is by far the best imho will just degenerate into a rumour mill not worthy of the reputation it has. As Bella has pointed out, all F1 teams are for sale anyway, all the time, so it's not even news. So, I say again, declare a source or just get back down the pub |
