Triple 8 spreading themselves out, Super 2, GT, Supercars, possibly TCR if Holden have their way. Exciting times.

So what happens to Triple Eight ambassador Mr. Craig Lowndes? He's always said with much enthusiasm that he wants to do International Endurance racing.

Probably not Roland's choice with the driver lineup. Maybe the guy footing the bill for the GT venture gets to choose?

Mr van Gisbergen has previously worked with the family with the handover of their Supercars chassis, so I guess it all makes sense. Especially if they're kicking the tin on the whole venture.

Maybe not but those Malays are very capable drivers with Jaafar having driven with a beaten some of the best in lmp2 and jefri also being impressive in his outings. They'll be up there as favourites.

I wonder what the parts deal for Holden teams is worth, considering there is very little OEM parts on the race cars? Or are they subsidising the 888 panels too?

Tail lights, door handles, grilles, some sheetmetal such as inner pillar skins, turrets, etc. Probably not much in the grand scheme of things, unless you have a really big shunt.

COG testing with poll.
I voted yes. https://www.speedcafe.com/2019/03/18...vity-controls/ It would be funny if holden was found to have lower COG. |

Well it’s a good idea and I see they are asking the fans. Teams will always have their own set up ways

So the Mustangs have to be nobbled because 888 are no longer winning everything / can't get the single spring setup working.
What a joke. |

It’s the way politics work, someone isn’t fast enough, so time to change the rules. Why can’t they just let things be?

I'm not and never will be a supporter of one brand or another but supercars has ever been a category focussed or based on technical parity and thus there have been many cases where a rules have been tweaked to better achieve that parity.
If in fact the article linked by mayhem is correct (and the article is only conjecture at this stage) then I struggle to see the difference from when the ZB bodywork was apparently "tucked" (I think that was the expression used at the time) and not against the rules. The rules were changed to prevent the tucking but also with the ZB the other brands were permitted lighter material panels. It's just part of an ongoing process of maintaining technical parity as teams and brand groups go down new paths and explore the extent of the current rules. |

This happens when teams exploit ambiguity in the rules. Both Triple Eight and DJRTP have stated that there were things they wanted to do, that were knocked back by the catagory when homologating the new cars.
Nothing to do with the ancient Ford V Holden "rivalry" mentality. |
