Smells like vendor financing to me.

A great way in for Jamie and an eye on the out-door for RD.

I am imagining a succession plan involving Mr Dane handing over to his daughter, along with other investors, passive or active.

Funny thing is, a race team that runs anything but unilaterally, with a single point of control, sometimes does not work effectively...

Contrary to the misguided uproar in the social media, it's not really a big deal.

Does Roland just deduct some of JW's salary so the payment can be made?

Trinette Schipkie appears to have divested her shareholding in 888RE at some stage.

This may, or may not, have something to do with Trinette not being mentioned as a shareholder...

Could this possibly be interpreted as Roland being short of cash?

Or perhaps freeing up some capital to do something else?

I highly doubt he's running out of money. He's not that silly.

I think he is setting up more a line of succession. He knows he cant go on forever, so get someone in and mould them.

There seems to be some housekeeping going on at 888RE, the sale of the #888 ZB to MSR/JRR, the imminent sale of the Sandman panel van, plus noise that the ‘06 Lowndes/Whincup Bathurst winning Falcon may have been sold.. suggests redundant assets are no longer welcome..

Common sense says relying on a renewal of the Holden factory deal may not be smart business. if Roland Dane is anything, he's a smart business man.

Beyond 2019 contracts seems to be the big unknown.

Everything is up in the air for them. All three drivers, Holden, Redbull...

Depending how you view the capacity of a beverage conveyance, is it a bail-out? A clean slate? A takeover?

Its been standard practice at 888RE for the last 15 years to time driver contracts alongside sponsor contracts.

I think this is a positive for both Jamie (who has been highly critisized in the past by many) Great to see him commit to the team and the sport.

Looks like a potential fire sale to me.... Depending on how she held the shares, it could sort after by creditors and thus placing a share of T8 into the hands of unknown parties. And when things like that happen, it gets messy.

So the question now is, did he buy at a "market value" or "fire sale". Either way good on him for reinvesting his hard earned into the sport and so on. I'm sure he'll get something back on the dollar invested.

I bet Dane has a clause for if any shareholder becomes insolvent.

Trigger clauses like that are standard.

Would there be any ROI on, or even any annual dividends expected from a Supercar team?

Are they there to make a profit, or simply to ensure costs match, or at least don't exceed, revenue.
