Silverstone 17/18 May HSCC/VSCC

anyone else racing at the HSCC/VSCC meeting this weekend. Between the two clubs even the hardest to please classic racing nut's demand should be met! Hopefully it wont be too diluted by the Brands CSMA meeting.
I am there Saturday and Sunday and then again the following weekend for the BRDC 75th Anniversary meeting so I expect to be given a hard time by the trouble!!

Wont be racing but I will be there.
What are you running out that weekend Simon so I can ensure the lenses are pointed in the right direction?

There's a BARC meet on the Stowe circuit as well that weekend I believe

just the Lotus - I was going to take the Alfa as well but as I am selling it I dont wont to push my luck! it did very well at Donington! I am running the Lotus in the VSCC 50s Sportscar race on Saturday and the HSCC Classic Sports Car race on Sunday. The good news is that they both have civilised starts (sign on at 10.25 in both cases!!).

Have you got a buyer for your Alfa Simon as I might be interested? Looking for a suitable car to start in motorsport and I was thinking along the lines of GTA challenge.

Are you actually interested or just interested in the idea?!
havent heard from you. I will be at Silverstone this weekend. I am probably going to put it into the Bonhams Goodwood Festival sale unless I have sold it next week as I have found another toy I want!

sorry to say it will rain both days - as I am in an open sportscar I am not exactly swinging from the light fittings myself! Apparently 11's have an advantage in teh wet - my experience is that they spin in the wet!!

Just heard there will be 27 cars for the classic F3 race, which when mixed with the "Derek Bell Trophy" cars will mean a packed grid for that race.

Watch for a photo opportunity on the Sunday lunchtime when all the F3 cars are lined up for a photoshoot.

Unfortunately, I could not get to this meeting.

To anyone who went, was the racing good, and who won the major races (Boulogne & Hawthorn Trophies)?

Were any interseting "new" old cars running?!

rain lashed down on Sunday!! and the Eleven did not disappoint spinning at Luffield and in the process giving up a 2nd in class and 16th overall to finish 4th in class and 24th /36 overall. I now know the limitation of steering on the throttle in the wet! At least the rain washed the worst of the oil off. The Derek Bell race became very confusing with the front cars on the slowdown lap when the rest of the field were still hard at it! Saturday dried out a lot in the afternoon and gave some great racing.
General feeling I think was that it was a success and hopefully can grow next year - maybe the historic festival is back at Silverstone!

Simon..I left a PM last night enquiring about your connection speed as I was unsure whether you'd want the full files or sensible sized images
Didn't get the spin unfortunately...I was lurking on the Beckets/Ireland end of the Club Straight (3yr old daughter with me so I wasn't at my most mobile )
I enjoyed it immensely despite (or maybe because of?)the rain...spins slides loads and loads and loads of opposite lock..big banging F5000's again (when will that Eagle actually compete???)..it was great
