That is fantastic news! A Gallardo GT2 that performs well and would be a viable choice in any of the other GT racing series would be just awesome!

Who developed the Gallardo GT2? Reiter? Or another company?

Looking forward to it! So I guess all their resources will go to the new Gallardo GT2 this season?

Most of it. They also do not build any new GT3 machines...

Really?? Have they not built any GT3 racers based on the newer LP-560-4 (sp) Gallardo?

2 Gallardos for GT Open, but what about FIA GT ? I hope we could see at least one of them, enough from the Ferrari Challenge vs. ProSpeed !

Oh happy days! The Murcielago R-GT is confirmed for the whole LMS season with Rusinov/Kox

And as a bonus Reiter will also field the Gallardo LP560 in GT2

Awesome news!! Didnt expect the Murcielago to make an appearance in GT1. Could they get a win this year in the very small GT1 class?? Lets hope so.

If Reiter doesn't take the series this year against that motley crue, I'll be stunned.

I won't. The JMW ferrari has a very strong line-up with Bruni and Bell, and that line-up proved very successful at Virgo last year

Ahh i see, sorry. It's just the GT2 car is under the Reiter engineering banner with the GT1 car being IPB Spartak

Point of confusion is fair. It is widely known that IPB Spartak is just a sponsor banner for the Reiter operation, but that is indeed the car I was referring to.

There is absolutely no way that the Reiter GT2 car is a shoe-in for anything. A new car, with two reasonably talented young gentlemen is no match for the top GT2 entries from IMSA, F-P, JMW and hopefully Farnbacher (are all their Ferraris on Hankook, or just 1?). If the GT2 Lambo manages to be reliable over 6 hours, it will probably be mid-pack.

Regarding the tyres on the Farnbacher cars, the entry list states #89 with Hankooks, #90 with Dunlops, and #91 with Michelins...

According to DSC, a new team resulting from a parting of the ways between the car owner Jim McWhirter and Virgo- It's the same car as last year, (described as 'fully updated'), same Dunlop tyre deal, the same race engineer, and some key members of the crew.
