I hope he does well too, for his own sake and not to make someone else look bad (off topic: why do we have to hate to prove we like something else?) Lets hope this doesn't become a tedious Webber/Heidfeld thread again. We are hours from the season. We shall soon see and then we can discuss.
Who else will be cheering particular drivers. I like the McLaren drivers, but I shall particularly cheer on Fisi this weekend. It'll be nice to see what he can do, if that Renault is all it is cracked up to be. Last edited by Adam43; 3 Mar 2005 at 21:44. |

Everyone knows who I will be cheering for this weekend As Adam suggests, PLEASE, lets stick to cheering for our drivers, without the need to bash others.

I could care less if Nick beats Mark or vice versa. If they mix and match and win the constructors i'll be happy. I think they're both good. I love how Nick keeps low key on everything and simply lets his driving do the talking. I think Mark might be slightly less talented than Nick but i admire how hard he works to get to the top. Different qualities for very different people. Hopefully they'll work well together. |

so true Adam as the great Booker T has said
"Don't hate the player , Hate the game " I like Nick I do hope he does very well . But I look foward to something that has not happened in a long time a Wiliams team that works together "driver pairing" . Mark as always has alot of pressure this race just like Nick will in Germany more for him this year than anyother now hs in a top seat powered by the might of BMW but race one is a big one and a lot could go wrong and alot could go right . So I say Go Nick !! BUT more so GO WEBBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last edited by Mark Webber; 3 Mar 2005 at 21:53. |

If you are a fan of Nick Heidfeld, surely it's in your best interests to talk up Mark Webber, so that you can say your man has beaten a good teammate rather than someone you think is mediocre.

So you're saying Webber is going to beat Schumy's record and win 16 of 19 races this season? |

pffft, Webber and Heidfeld are a pretty weak pairing for a team like Williams. Don't expect much...

Here as always pushing for Jacques. Hopefully the Sauber is a good lil reliable fast car and Jacques can drive to where it doesn't belong (upwards, hopefully!)

Both Williams lads have my support. While a preference (and my betting money) think Webber will prevail, I want them both to star. Its been a long time waiting for quick Nick, I'm glad he's finally getting his chance.
Will be kind of funny really if he turns out to be a star, being such a last minute 'will we or wont we' addition. Go Nick, and go Webber! |

Well i say we SHOULD be able to say negative things about certain drivers-let's face it,some really deserve it.
That said i have no real problem with the driver choices this year, everyone pretty much got what they deserved. Great to see (in no particular order) mark, nick and giancarlo in competative cars!! |

I'm thrilled that Nick finally has his chance; but I'll be thrillled for Webber's success as well. I'll also be jumping up anddown and yelling at the TV if Fisi shows his expected pace.
If Trulli can show any evidence of making the TOYOTA look like less than a dog-that'll be sweet as well. Honestly, if the other teams can match Ferrari, we are in for a corker of a season. |

Nick picked up 3rd in the second practice session at Melbourne.
Good to see there is potential in the Williams cars when everyone was saying they were looking slow. |

Well, I'll be shouting for Michael and Ferrari - such things should be a surprise!
Other than that, I really am hoping Nick does the job as I think he has long deserved a valid opportunity. The same is true with Fisi, and I would love to see Sato come into his own also. Frankly, when it comes down to it, I want everyone to do their best to perform to the best of their abilities. That is what it is all about. |

I wud be cheering for Michael and Ferrari...Fisi, Heidfeld, Sato, JV, Montoya...wud be interesting to see who comes up on top at Mclaren, Williams, Sauber and Toyota...all pairings are by and large evenly matched, at least as of today (not worrying too much on past statistics..

Heck he made a good start, ran convincingly right behind Webber in 5th and then dropped unexpectedly at the first Pit Stop to 9th. The Move on Schumacher was aggressive and I think that had Schumacher yielded the inside line that Nick was headed for, he would have pulled off the pass. I will say I am a bit disappointed and hope that Malaysia will yield a better result.
