wlio01 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Rallycross 1988-1994 ('The Golden Era')!

Hi, can anyone give me a list of the cars raced by Will Gollop by year?

Wow there's a question!

My memory tells me there was a Saab for many years up until 1987? Then he ran the first incarnation of his 6R4 and then it got 'twin turbo'd'

Pretty sure you're right about the Saab- His 'day job' outside rallycross, of course, was the main Saab dealer in Canterbury. Looking at a couple of pics that turned up on Flickr, he seems to have run Saabs in rallycross from the late 1970's through to the mid 80's, when he got his first Metro. http://www.flickr.com/photos/dwphoto_kent/941225311/

Before the Saabs, I've got a very vague memory that I've seen a mention somewhere- probably on 'Tenths- of him rallycrossing a Dolomite Sprint at one time...

The Metros have been discussed quite a bit in the 6R4 thread a while back - a quick search of the thread suggests the first 6R4 outing was at the tail end of 1986- a Lydden Winterseries round in November (IIRC he was the first driver to have one for rallycross?)

He carried on with the 6R4s (at least two different cars, with a change from 3-litre N/A to Biturbo around 1989/90), and then moved onto the Peugeot 309 for 1993 or thereabouts when the regulation changes outlawed the Group B cars at ERC level. The 309 only lasted for a couple of seasons at most before being replaced by the 306. As I remember, he took a break from rallycross before coming back for a while with a Focus around 2004

haggispeed has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Didn't he run an Astra as well in the 80's ?

I remember John Welch had a smart Crusade in the supercar class and Tony Bardy had one in the A class or whatever it was called. Don't recall Gollop having one?

No Astra. I don't the 6R4 got the bi-Turbo engine until 1990 at the earliest maybe even 1991. I think the 306 was 1996.

Ah - stand corrected, yes of course it was John Welch, not Gollop
